I would have thought that Tony Smith wasn't the sort of coach to play these silly mind games. it's not like we're heading into a major final and need a psychological edge. It's a league game and an early season one at that. Whether we win this game or not will not make a grand deal of difference at the end of the season.
I think the fact that we've not won at Knowsley Road in the SL-era means far more to us than it does to the Wire players or coaching staff. In my opinion, if Briers isn't in the 19-man squad then he isn't playing. I just don't think Tony Smith would mess about like that.

I totally agree. He's never done it before so I don't see why he would start now. I don't recall any recent coach doing it to be honest. |
