That is ridiculous for a generic lager, I think £4.20 is fair enough for Brooklyn though, supply and demand.

It might be £1.50 for Tetleys in the club or £1.70 for Carlsberg but it's cheap and nasty stuff, in the nicest way the new(ish) bars around Springfield Street are trying to be a bit more upmarket and attract a different clientele or those who appreciate the good stuff. Like saying why buy vintage wine when Bargain Booze has lambrini for a quid!

I thought you'd have preferred Custard Pies in the face, a soda syphon down your trousers, and the doors falling off your car when you get home.

Its a nice bar, the Brooklyn is pricey but the rest are reasonable, they are getting cask ciders in too so that will be good.

£4.20 for a pint. It's like being on London all over again. What a rip off.

Some people prefer paying £1.75 a pint. £4.20 though, why would anyone pay that for a drink.

Like I said, different clientele. Why spend £20 on a bottle of half decent wine when you can buy Lambrini for a quid. Why anyone would buy lager in a real ale bar is beyond me anyway. However if those prices keep the usual Carlsberg drinking morons you see in town away I'm all for it. The real ale train was ruined by people drinking lager purely with the intention of getting bladdered and I suspect that is something the Sankey Street end of town is keen to avoid.

If your happy paying 1.75 a pint, then go for it and enjoy your drinking in wetherspoons with its chavs ans scumbags and the all day pot barflies, killing time for nothing.

And just to reinforce that point, I've just walk ed past the looking glass seeing some bleeding chav puking up on one of the tables outside. Cracking that.
