A merge wont work.



The worrying thing for FC, is that if things go pearshaped at the KC they gave up the asset of the Boulevard as a condition of moving to the KC. Would FC be able to finance and support its own stadium, we know how hard this has been for other SL clubs

It's easy for fans of teams not involved in the merger to suggest it's a good idea and it will centralise a fan base, create one big successful team etc etc



Now if it was Wire and Widnes ??

Would make reaction to the Wire Widnes proposal seem gentle....

I think a merge could work, but only for failing clubs/clubs struggling to progress. For example a cumbrian merge, it would need time but could happen.



However both Hull Clubs aren't in bad shape so wouldnt work.

It doesn't matter what shape the two Hull clubs are in, a merger there would never be on the cards. To get a flavour of what things are like between the fans in East and West Hull just have a read of their respective RLFANS Boards.

No chance of a merger folks just seems like a nice man who wants to give a small bit of money back to the east hull community.



Anyone who puts large amounts of money into RL has to be welcomed with open arms.



Oh and its not nailed on as a million pounds,only figure mentioned is that its a 7 digit amount so could be as much as 9 million !!

Well if it's more than the million that's all the better for KR, fair play to them.



I do hope that the investor has just done it as a gesture of goodwill rather than a sweetner for bigger plans though.

He has been after the KC for a while now, read in the Hull Daily Mail a few months back when the idea was first floated that he wanted FC to remain in the KC, if the Council won't sell it he is threatening to build a new ground for City in Malton where ever the hell that is and inviting FC to play there too. He claimed he wants the KC to that he can make it more of a community facility a bit like the LSV, and again when I saw the paper on Tuesday he was claiming that he simply wants sports in 'ull to prosper. No doubt there is a lot more to it than that though...



As someone who lives in West Hull there is no chance of such a merger, the West v East hatred is in the blood! Watching the derby in a pub here sure is an experience!

Malton is quite a way from Hull and is a small N. Yorks Market town. He wouldn't have a cat in Hells chance of getting planning permission there.

The stadium is planned for Melton, which is to the west of the Humber Bridge
