I heard the very sad news that Bert Myers passed away yesterday ,after a long illness .Bert was a Stalwart Leyther , who never missed a game home or away , before illness took its toll .He was a real Character ,who had strong opinions of everything , and maybe didn't always see eye to eye with folk , but at least he was honest and wouldn't say anything about you he wouldn't say to your face .



He would do anything for Leigh Centurions and was a Leyther through and through , I will miss him .RIP Bert .His Funeral is apparently next Thursday Afternoon at 2pm at Howe Bridge Crematorium.

Sorry to hear this sad news about Bert..

Our thoughts & prayers are with his family & close friends.

I often wondered where he was after hearing of his bad health a few years ago

Sad news - I've missed seeing Burt about the place. Condolences to his friends and family.

Yeah I heard the funeral was Friday at 1.45 next week if it's Thursday I'd need to ask for time off so can someone confirm this please . BERT love LISA and I want to be there .

Berts' funeral is on Thursday 5th June at Howe Bridge Crematorium at 1-45 pm. I will be there to say my goodbyes to an old friend and pay my respect to his daughter Susan along with his family.

Sad to hear of Bert's passing. He was a real character, and true Leyther. Yet another stalwart who will be sadly missed.



I remember visiting him in hospital when illness first struck. He certainly had the nurses looking over their shoulders, and was proposing to them on a regular basis!



RIP Bert, and my condolences to his family.

Bert was an interesting character, very much one of a kind, incredibly passionate about LRLFC, he was always there in the stand at Hilton Park for every match 1 st team or reserves/juniors, he contributed funds many many times at academy matches as Don Boyle would attest to



I remember him helping me with the fire hoses when I attempted my pitch defrost at Paul Rowleys testimonial ( 1 st attempt ) against Fax

I'm not sure we ever met but what Starbug has said tells me more than enough to know that you were a true Leyther.
