The Leader of Wigan Council, Lord Peter Smith, said: “Wigan Council has been in discussion with Leigh East Rugby Club about the future operations of the pavilion at Leigh Sports Village. We are very pleased to have reached an agreement....oh really Lord Peter !!!!

and of course Mr Chairman - Well done Keith for sticking it out - you should consult one of them 'Injury Lawyers R Us' (maybe Heyman and Co on a no win no fee deal?) and sue the council for 'unnecessary' stress related injury

This really is fantastic news.



I will however be tempted to tell Lord Smith the next time he comes canvassing or pushing leaflets through my door how unhappy I was at the thought of the council nearly evicting East out of their own clubhouse and therefore threatening a huge sports club's existence, at the sports village.
