Totally agree pal........this guy was 1 of Widnes`s better players when he was there and his off-field antics put the brakes on his career - if he can get back on track then we have signed a superb player who will only get better and better IMO. |

Dont know a great deal about him but getting good wraps ( more so than gardner ) from the widnes fans on here and there own site. Welcome to the leythers chris and good luck. Also did anyone catch all the names of the players tonight, there was a couple who i have not heard of and sure the lad near the end of the line announced himself as sam singleton ???? Good news about thornley, pownall, duffs and hoppy all signed up ( i think ) although keith freers statement that 14 were signed up dosent quite match the list already announced plus the ones there tonight ??

Sam Singleton played for Duffy's/Littler's u 18's last year and was a wow -do people on here only watch the 1st team? The Parky's gave him big 'wraps' and if anything Dave knows his players.

Unfortunatley only get to watch the 1st team
( home And away ) so not heard of the lad, what postion does he play and whats his prospects of first team next year in your opinion please. |

Sam has played halfback for his club and also fullback (Chorley Panthers) He played for us as a 9 last season in the 18s, cracking footwork, explosive pace and the ability to break the line. He was dynamic out of dummy half, a real exciting player.

Club has a strict pay structure and is not prepared to make an exception for one player. Current players have all felt the financial pain, and the Board does not believe it would be right to then offer anyone higher terms than the rest of the squad.
Andy's agent had agreed the deal on offer, but it would appear that he hadn't agreed it with his player, who feels he should be able to get a better deal.
Whether he does, or not, remains to be seen. |
