| Guys n Gals, please don't over react it could cause the distraction you say you want to avoid. Focus on the positives and get behind the team, we have a huge game on sunday and let the BoM deal with this - [size=150we don't need the money[/size, we want SL, we are FT next season, Ryan is contracted for 2.5 more years and this is a club on the up.

| Quote ColD="ColD""We don't need the money" is a very bold statement Mo. The board have made massive strides since taking over and need a big pat on the back for what they are making of this club, but good money would need serious consideration.
Brierley looks class at this level, be interesting to see how he would go on at SL at this stage of his career - Cas would have let him go for a reason'"
I agree Col, £6m would be an interesting amount but this isnt soccer. Try calculating the income from reaching SL in the next 2 years, then look at £200k in comparison, or £500k. It wasn't a bold statement it was a fact and this was my last comment on this topic.

| Quote salfordlad="salfordlad"Have read Marwan's tweets one of which says Leigh will never get into Superleague because of proposals made by the RFL.
Don't understand why he would tweet that.
Anybody know ?'"
Can only presume he's on about the restructure which he's been complaining about. Must just be having a strop after Leigh (and pretty much all of the Championship) and most of Super League have realised he's wrong and it's the only way to go.
Ryan is a Salford fan and has always said he wants to play for them but as has been pointed out he needs to think of his career 1st and the best thing for that is to stay at Leigh, getting regular game time, playing and developing really well, going full time next year and (hopefully) winning promotion into Super League where he'll then be beating teams like Salford.

Think you've got it spot on Lowton Sparrow. Numerous interviews Ryan has mentioned this desire and his commitment to stay at Leigh for the length of his new contract which seems him turn full time. We don't need the money if and only if we finish top two. The board can achieve our goals with a top two finish and run a full time squad to challenge at the top in that middle 8. Only a very large offer would see us accept in my humble opinion. We need to hold onto players of Ryan's quality to be able to compete at the highest level and selling up is often a rash decision unless 2 or 3 can be brought in to replace what's lost.

| Storm in a teacup and nothing to worry about.
What Neil says is correct we don't need to sell any player for the money, the club has never been as financially secure or in a better position. The money we as Directors are committed to, the increased sponsorship and revenue that have been generated and our unique partnership with LSV means unlike any other club in the game WE WILL be challenging for SL in our own right in 12 months time so don't and won't need to sell our assets, on the contrary we will be looking to add more quality and strengthen what we have.
Marwan is just being flippant and Naive in some of his comments and at the same seriously underestimating the financial wealth and combined power of our Board at the same time.
We as a club won't officially comment on twitter activity or speculation let's leave Marwan to do what he does as he's doing a great job building his own little empire then knocking it down bit by bit from what I can see so we will keep focused on what we do and are doing well and treat it with the contempt it deserves.
Final word Ryan Brierley is contracted to Leigh Centurions for three years, he's happy and playing well and learning from one of the best young coaches in the game. Paul Rowley is mentoring this young lad very well and there is a mutual respect between them.
We put this one to bed weeks ago when Ryan signed the deal and that's the end of it.

| Why don't we play him at his own game and try to tap his wife up ( in a business sense obviously lol) to join the one of the best boards in rugby league, I'm sure Derek, Andy, Mo and the other board members would welcome her!!!

| Ryan is a class act, who will be SL quality in time to come. If he harbours SL ambitions, I think he is capable of doing better for himself than Salford. (with some respect to them) If our club continues to progress at its current rate, Leigh would be a better bet, for example.

Defo worth a try just to wind him up, and who knows, she might just go for it.

| Half brother to his horse Rangi Chase is one called Ryan Brierley
As for most people would do the same, I disagree. Can't hear Ken Davy or Simon Moran can you. Getting what you want at the cost and misery of others is not an attractive personality trait IMO. Just of to send him a tweet suggesting if Mandy still has HER money to burn having not got the Bulls, the BOM at Leigh would welcome another investor.
We have differing views along the lines of you like marmite and I don't. Hope your horse comes in by the way
