Suspect you are probably right Steve, although the clubs probably felt they had something more important to be playing for, at the time they voted! Also, didn't Northern Rail's sponsorship expire at the end of last season? And the SL clubs would no doubt tell us how good the RFL is at getting competition sponsorship deals!

I'm afraid in this instance you are wrong Steve. Neither us nor the other Championship clubs made this decision but there is nothing we can do about it now .

Or maybe London have jumped in seeing as they are desperate for players. Or maybe as someone mentioned the gun has been jumped

Care to explain why you think this? I think we are certainly stronger than we were last season, whether we are as strong as other teams is debatable though. Im quietly confident we will do ok this season. I have to be, I have £50 riding on it.

Sheffield added another big Menzie Yere type centre and a good prop in jones in with little change elsewhere to a championship winning side.

Featherstone offloaded finn and added 3 of Batleys top performers Flanagan, Moore & Hirst as well as Nicholson who is a very good prop from York who was devastating last season in a poor side......also they have added a big tongan centre who played NRL as well as some pretty good young prospects from Leeds and Warrington and also sam smeaton to return after missing all last season....They have added more size, power and pace so I wouldn't say they were weaker



Halifax....again they have added a couple more of batley's better players whilst replacing the ashall's....johnson and brown will add something in the halves and also and cowling from wakefield will add to their lacklustre centre partnership...so weakened nah...

Batley.....losing 9 of their better players and replacing with mainly mediocre alternatives does not give me much hope so I dont know where your expectations come from ? I wish I had your enthusiasm for 2014 but I do not. Scott from York is a good addition to replace walmsley but the rest of the replacements dont cut it for me and mid table mediocrity for me this season i think whilst causing the odd upset here and there.

Now to Leigh.....i believe you have recruited very well and will be competing in the top 1-3 but to think that the usual suspects are going to be 'weaker' is a bit naive......and dont forget to win a grand final you have to win a play off game !!

You could have saved typing all that and just put your last line. Other teams strengths matter not when we can't win a play off game.
