| Quote leigh-ratii="leigh-ratii"Thaler is poor. not just last Friday but generally poor. A few weeks ago Thierry Alibert was suspended for awarding a try on the 7th tackle. In the Fev v.Cas cup game Thaler awarded Cas their openening try when clearer the ball grounded a foot short - and stayed there. It was clearly short. Why was he not suspended - for allowing a score when clearly it wasnt.
In the opening three rounds Thaler had Wakefield, his home town club, twice. In both those games he awarded Wakefield 8 consecutive penallties - that's too much of a coincidence, surely. He's poor.'"
Only awarded Leeds six in total though. Perhaps, as a Wakefield fan, he hates Leeds?

| When we get Bentham again opposition fans will remark he is a Leigh supporter.
The idea that refs are biased is silly imo.
Shame we can't find out what Limoux fans think of Warren Turley.

| I don't think anyone thinks that he contributed to the defeat. But there were decisions that were wrong.

| Quote Alan="Alan"I'm at a loss to see how Friday's ref was bad, or contributed to our defeat. He should be applauded for keeping the game flowing and contributing to the spectacle. As for Leeds scoring from a 'forward' pass, maybe they did. Were all the passes in the marvellous build up to TG's try perfectly 'legitimate'? If we had the luxury of watching the DVD from the correct angles, we would probably spot at least 30 'forward' passes from each side. I personally don't like the number of 'flat/forward' passes we see, but if the ref blew up for them all, we wouldn't get much of a game, would we?'"
Good post..He had a good game the problem with some people they want a stop and start game which we have been getting this last few years in the Championship.. The best refs let the game flow like he did Friday he could have given us 20 pens and it would,nt have made any difference we got beat fair n square by CLASS PLAYERS

| Quote reffy="reffy"I think you certainly haven't a clue about the game of Rugby League. The referee on Friday contributed to a very watchable game of RL, he made the odd error as they all do. Your error was in going to watch something you don't understand.'"
Well in that case i will stay away and keep my money to myself.

| IMO overall I thought the ref wasn't as bad as some people are stating. There was a few decisions which were questionable but some of that was down to the touch judges. Thaler allowed the game to flow which made for an entertaining spectacle but at the end of the day regardless of who refereed the match we would of lost. Lets just enjoy our lads performance onwards & upwards

| Thaler allowed the game to flow because it was a fast attacking free flowing game. Had he had his usuall whistle happy head on it would have been stop start. I have stated three occasion that he made bad mistakes in my opinion. Oh and they weren't in our favour.

| Missed some forward passes of which one resulted in a Leeds try, in fairness it must be hard for a ref to keep up with Young Athletes at their prime going flat out and whilst trying to keep up keep looking sideways !
When Littler and Bailey started slogging it out (I thought Bailey got a little dig in before it kicked off but so what - thats what RL is lacking at times , that gets the crowd pumped up and the atmosphere rockets !) I'd have thought that try should have stood as it had zero effect on the score or the attack or defence of either team.
So a couple of errors , maybe a few more ?
I'd take that as virtually everyone else on the pitch made a few errors.
He could have blown up for a host of daft penalities but choose to keep the game moving, it actually felt like a RL game I was watching rather than some of the stop / start penalty sessions you sometimes see.

He gave a penalty to Leeds for that incident, so anything that happened after the biff was irrelevant.

| Must admit he annoyed me a couple of times but so did the lines men and I reckon if that incident had been in SL the try would have stood and the players put on report ,why let the game carry on if you are just going to deny the try, he should have stopped play right away .Keeping that try would have given the game a more balanced feel to it ,which it most certainly deserved IMO .
