He has played well but with Wilkes, Spenner, Emmitt, Acton, Duffy and Ostick competing for places in the props I think rotation is a good idea. Haven't heard much about Ostick recently, has he picked up an injury?

| Michael Ostick played in the reserves at Oldham today, first game back after two shoulder ops in close season.

| Good to hear Ostick is on his way back. Some tremendous competition for places.

Plus Anthony Bate. Wasn't he down for the first team last week, before picking up an injury in training? Did he play for the reserves today?

| Quote salfordlad="salfordlad"Played some good stuff today and good performances all round.
Thought Sam Peat showed some real pace and Josh Ward's kicking game was up to his usual standard.'"
Sam has learned a lot from his Dad and has obviously inherited his pace, together with his handling and defensive prowess. I recall having the privilege to play in the same team as his Dad at Leigh Colts and he was probably the best winger I have ever seen, incl Dessie and Offiah
If it wasn't for that injury at a young age he would have gone on to great things, two snapped tendons at 18 trying to avoid buying a round, he never recovered ( or bought a round)

| Just watched the reserves highlights and thought Andy Thornley looked fantastic. Always been a big fan and think he does a lot of the unglamorous work in the Tommy Goulden style that tires out the opposition and allows the players around him to shine. Hope to see him in the 1st team soon!!
Looked an all round great performance from the reserves, glad Alex Brown racked up some tries too!!

Is this the same Peety that you, me and my old man stood with at Hilton Park!? I knew he was a good coach but didn't know he was a past Leigh player. Hope Sam goes well, certainly looks a great prospect!
