Quote Ganson's Optician="Ganson's Optician"Remember the days when this forum was full of posts longing for a board that communicated with punters and was willing to inject cash and take the club forward?
12 months ago there was a thread on here asking for people to put their hands in their pockets and see if they had any loose change to buy a telly for in the club shop. Fast forward to today and the club is making all the right noises with a nice layer of dust now gathering on the collection buckets, yet there is more negativity than at some of the club's darkest hours!'"
I actually don't think there is a mass of negativity - I think certain debate is not accepted if its perceived as being critical of the club which people view as negative which is crazy as its a fans forum and that's what people do, discuss the good & bad at the club they follow !
Of course on all forums of all sports you will get those who are critical of everything and are never happy, but that is a huge minority and is so on this board.
What hasn't helped is some public spats which should have been played out in a office at the LSV and not across a message board, no one comes out of that well and yet even the way that 'kicked off' was over nothing - it was hardly a crime to ask a question and the question could have been ignored or answered.
I still enjoy coming on here and I would hope the club on realising this is a vital way of getting info out to the lapsed non / occasional fans will realise a lot of Leigh 'fanatics' read and use this board so in effect carry the message forward for them when stuff is passed on.
It would be a mistake if the new BOD / BOM was to miss that trick over some perceived mass constant negativity that in my opinion just isn't here as I'd wager a lot more Leigh fans read these boards than post on them so the message would hit a fair chunk of the clubs target audience, it would equally be a poor day if people stopped posting because then the current minority posting rubbish become the majority posting.
With that the club loses a welcome communication vehicle and the real fans lose some light entertainment keeping in touch with the club from home.
