Slight differnce between a struggling Leigh engaging in a very unpopular DR arangement with a top club, after agreeing to only take young developing players, back when The Championship meant nothing, then when it didn't work scrapping it; and Featherstone, a club that for years has been claiming to be ready for Super League, resorting to the weekly cast offs of one the teams they should be aiming to replace. Anyone that has used dual code shouldn't be allowed into the Qualifying Super 8s (no one in The Championship should be allowed to really), makes a mockery of the compertition.

You can't blame a club for using a system thats in place..Leigh are the template for the Championship for others to follow.We control the mockery in our destiny.Not what others do.

I never liked DC players but we had to do it at the time for reasons already covered.



I have always thought it hypocritical to do something then criticise someone else for doing the same.

If Featherstone are calling on DR players from super league clubs[i specifically[/i to play against Leigh then Leigh should firstly take it as a massive compliment; then get their heads on the game in hand and beat Featherstone into the ground in their own back yard.



Even though I've been a lapsed rugby fan, I have still noticed Featherstone to be one of the stronger sides outside of SL, so what's happened to them?



If I was a "Fev" fan, I would feel almost cheated to see so many DR players in my team, especially if it meant some local talent making way.



And, if Leigh did go down a similar route not so long ago, then no wonder fans didn't turn up to matches.



Sorry, but it seems that, even though, over the years, players on the field have always respected the game the majority of the time; off the field, the powers that be (mainly!)and desperate clubs - albeit probably with financial isuues - have let the game down.



Let's just hope it can be put right asap, starting with promotion and relegation hopefully back for good.

The main 'problem' is not the DR players. People seem to forget that the four Leeds lads were 'released' by Leeds to enable them to sign for Fev. In the very same report it said they would all return to Leeds to take up contracts for 2016.

A bit like Sam if Mr Wane finally realises that Sam is a good player !!!



People also forget we've sent a load of players to Barrow and in the future we could use them to dual Reg players there of ours !!!



Sorry unless the RFL don't sack off dual Rev then it will be a used and we enjoyed the likes of Mc carthy Blythe Evans etc a few year back some people have short memories im afraid !!!

I agree,but it's taken along time for Leigh to stop feeding.Yes financially it was always called upon.Going forward, I suspect sponsorship to play a big part in the future of Leigh's future in SL.

Very few genuine club fans like DR. I don't.



That said, we certainly used it to the maximum when we saw fit. The rules still allow for the use of D/R. Featherstone are abiding by those rules, because of their current circumstances. It is difficult to criticise them for it, given our history of using D/R.

Those rules have changed though since we used them, we only had players from Warrington, Saints and Wigan who were at the time fringe young players unlike today when clubs have players of all ages on DR, as for 'STEALTH marriage' on which planet was the author of this thread on for those couple of years we had DRs from Wigan it was never off here and neither was he and his mateys crowing how good his team were doing.
