I can't go to much Sunday games but can go to all the Friday games. I suppose it will suit different people. The giants should be looking to the future and the younger generation and trying to find a solution to get the best day and time possible.

Not overly bothered, but Sunday my first choice

i don't mind friday night games purely for the social side of things but the only reason i see for moving all our games to friday is to appeal to the young big night out types, unfortunately they are very much in the minority of our fan base.

It is true that I sent this round in an e-mail. It is true that I wrote it for the Examiner. These facts don't make it any less a topic for converstaion do they?



Personally I prefer Sunday games.



All I'm doing is reporting to a wider audience a discussion which took place.



After all, this is a discussion forum.

i am not going to have a go but be open about it.



If there is discussion in the club, if the club have asked the HGSA to canvass opinion, if the HGSA are wanting to raise an issue about how to inmprove attendances then fine.



Just as long as the club then think about a change in direction in marketing and plan it properly then fair enough.



It is fearly clear then that it will affect those with families and children therefore the marketing over the last 10 years needs to be binned.



Forget marketing at families and attract a different group.



Everyone knows that the new market will have to be 16 to 30 year olds,



What plans do the club have, what have they thought about to get these people to games.



Just announcing a change to Fridays with no marketing plans will be a disaster.



Tell the club to think about that before they start planning some dramatic change.



Most of us accept that the club have no alternative but to become a friday or saturday night club because SKY are forcing us to.



The situation we have now where we are a thursday , friday saturday, Sunday club is a disaster and pretty much p!sses fans off.



But for Christs sake i hope that the club do it properly.



My idea would be one free pint for the first six games ( or at least a half price voucher of some sort) for those who buy a season ticket !



That should get a bit of interest going !



It would not encourage me as i would not drink the p!ss they serve at the prices they charge.



Maybe we could all bring our own booze and they could charge for Corkage !

No club should play on a Friday unless they have an overly compelling reason, ie stadium usage, not to. All matches not on SKY should be played at the same time.



Crowd growth can't just be the individual responsibility of one club. It absolutely has to occur over the breadth of the sport. Having games spread over several days looks amateurish.

Really makes no difference to me personally, but....



Evening games seem to have a better atmosphere in general.....



...and the club needs another 4,000 supporters to turn up so we need to attract a diffrence demographic of supporters. It's obvious we are not going to get to the 10,000 level uncle ken wants if we don't change something dramatic.

nope but no need to try pull the wool over our eyes either by saying you 'spotted this in the examiner' as if you knew nothing about the article..when its your own!



back on topic, wouldnt make much difference to me friday or sunday but if the attendances go up for friday night switches i would approve

most leagues play over 2-3 days due to tv money..not just english rl....premiership, spainsh soccer, nrl, afl to name a few...a lot of teams in sl like to play fri evenings?, saints, wigan,salford,leeds ,hull fc and wire ...if all games should be played at same time then why not fri night?

the biggest crowd pullers choose to play fri night?

What on earth has what a team likes got to do with it?



They should play on the day they're told, it's not a bush league, it's supposed to be a professional sport.

I've told you exactly what happened. A group of people were talking about how the club could increase the fanbase and this was one stopic of the converstaion. Nothing more, nothing less. The club have not started talking about next season's games yet.



On that last point, that's why there are officious bag-checkers at every entrance.

Deary me!!!
