Quote Code13="Code13"There was a huge issue with our spine last season
Missing Grix for months, lost Robbo, Ellis unfit, Wood injured and brough trying too hard
Next season I expect this to be very different
Mamo at 1, an exciting player made for SL
Brierley at 6, a young player with international experience and potential to go a long way
Brough at 7, the old master
Leeming at 9 - looked our best 9 and just getting better, will be excellent to see him play bigger minutes'"
Brierley has been in Examiner saying he's getting 'bulked' which was vital,as for all the good things he may do on attack being a defensive liability just negates that.
Hope Rickster can get the best out of
Broughy in terms of attacking structure,we know there is no better half in SL as an edge defender.Broughy shows no sign of slowing down right now, still plenty to offer
Mamo, well from what I saw at Newcastle he is fit, strong & quick but being shoved out on the edge down there never knew if he had good hands, and good hands for a FB is vital in the modern game, well that is what the top ex players on commentary say,so no need just to take my word for it.Longer he is out of any pre season harder it will be for him to get totally up to speed on the combinations.
Leeming, not convinced yet,got time on his side, not a total athlete at 9 like say Roby,so will he prove to have a footballing brain in the long run - hope so.
The final part of the spine 13,
Hinchy in there will be a huge positive,if Stone has any sense he will use him as an extra pivot like Wigan do with O'Loughlin.
