That really is complete nonsense, the only team who might have finished above Huddersfield if the regular season decided the champions is Warrington.



It is an untruth that Huddersfield went all out in team selections for every match, just like others they prioritised at times. in so doing Huddersfield Giants lost 3 matches where they put out weaker sides due to other circumstances, Salford and Bradford away and Wire at home. With a different emphasis it would be reasonable expectation that we could have picked up more points.



Wigan did not deliberately lose 7 out of 9 or whatever the poor run they went on and Brian McDermott, to his credit, has stated that he has put out the best team he could on every match this season.



The true champions of Super League are the Grand Final winners, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks, that is what the competition rules say. Equally the LLS is a prize worth winning, it does not have the staus of the GF or the Challenge Cup, so it ranks third in importance, but every club would like to win it. For us winning the LLS this year is a major step forward, one we can be justly proud of, just like possible errors by Mr Silverwood last night, games that Wigan, Leeds or others may have won in different circumstances are of no consequence, they lost those games and we won our first top flight trophy since 1962. No amount of whining bull**** can take that away from us.



Like all Fartowners I am of course disappointed we did not win last night, but I am very happy with how our team have progressed this season

to the rest of us it means nothing

I ain't doubting winning the SL is the 'big one' but when anyone (mainly neutral posters) come on here and say in their eyes/opinion the LLS is the true winners, it's nearly always Leeds fans who come on to our boards and rip into them (to use an Eorl saying).



It's like they have to defend winning the SL title, isn't enough for them, they have to ram it down their throats, that that's all that counts, maybe because they could finish top for a number of seasons but won the SL at the end of the season.



and for what its worth I want Leeds to win the thing this year, now we are out, as they are the remaining Yorkshire club left.

If final position means nothing why is each and every board full of - where we will finish this season threads, and 1-14 predictions in january?!

I guess we can say we are the best team in Yorkshire this term, which for a club like ours is a massive achievement in itself.

And the only team in Yorkshire to have won sommert Wether it's worth nowt or not ;0)

Think most would say we've had a better season than you, 3 games between us you've won none, points scored a total of 32 against us, we've got 96, we've got further than you in the challenge cup, we got to semi's in playoffs same as Leeds, we have silverware you have not

Strip this down and what you're saying is you managed 1 round more than us in the CC.



If you think that means you're a better team than Leeds then go ahead.



As I said earlier the regular rounds are simply a mechanism for getting into the play-offs. Performances, score lines and league finishing positions are irrelevant, as long as you end up in the play-offs that’s all that counts.



Both Leeds and Huddersfield exited the play-offs at the same point.



P.S. we still have a very large shiny thing in our trophy cabinet, at least until next week.
