We're taking the Championship a bit more seriously this season - and winning. We're a good team that gels for once and could work if promoted to SL with some current players.

Partly yourself and partly an open question. It may be that I got the wrong end of your response (and if so I apologise). My point was we cant hold off signing guys up for next season (because we have an outside chance of going up) aswe may end up losing them (and if we don't go up, which lets face it we probably wont) it would leave us weaker for next season, again in the championship.

Its a difficult conundrum. If we go up we are to weak to compete if we don't we are not strong enough to go up and stay up

Every club has the same problem, however you have to keep a core squad and then strengthen it, usual thing tho, who ever goes down is likely to offload a shed load of players.

So in my opinion you contract the stronger players in the squad now then at the end of the season when you know what's happening sort the rest out.
