....so let's leave one of the best Rugby Only stadiums in the country because about a half dozen of your mates have stopped coming to games. The issue here isn't the stands being de-coupled, the issue here is the 3/4 full and that has SFA to do with the ground, its location, the clubs name or the landlord. If you think that it does, then you are barking!

The Stoop is nowhere near one of the best rugby stadiums in the country from an atmosphere point of view. It is much more of a casual "from a distance" stadiums - Good for food/drink/non-rugby actvities, but poor for out and out atmosphere. It always has been worse for this comparably to Brentford for example which is much closer to action. Of course some people prefer the more relaxed venue (akin to Wimbledon tennis) - I don't.



Also it is in an area that will never be interested en masse in RL, so it will always be an uphill struggle to get even 5k averages. This will be even more difficult now compared to 1997, with the rise in popularity of Quins RU since then

Because of course after spending 5 years there, we can all come to that conclusion.

Where would you rather go? What's a better stadium that fulfills all our needs? Please, I'm all ears.

Like the name change it will happen in time, but only when the right area and venue is identified, we have got to be at least part owners for a long term future. All that is important now for 2012 is turning it around to have a winning team that will hopefully build the supporter base, interesting which way we will look at marketing.

As a Rugby League fan living in Australia, is it possible to watch all/any of the Harlequins/London's matches?

The "right" area, the "right" venue. Still haven't read a single suggestion that makes any more sense than our current home.



I spoke to a Millwall fan at the weekend. I told him about the notions on here about moving to a "working class" area and playing at the New Den. He thought it was hilarious. Like anyone with a brain does.

I think the same question asked in the Twickenham area would meet the same response, perhaps even stronger, those dammed floodlights for night games, less we forget!



It's not just the area, more important it is knowing we will be a tenant for life, which could change at any time, even at a whim!



Anyway as a loyal Hammer supporter no mentioning that team M or the other Premiership club based in North London! LOL



We have just got to accept to disagree Dave, you will never change your position whatever happens, in my case I thought it was a good move to take the name of our tenants but no longer and long term it is best to break all ties with them completely, which you will never agree about even if we do find the correct area and stadium one day of our own or as part owners.

Whatever the name next season the club is certainly signing up some talent for 2012.

In my opinion,it has to become succesful at the Stoop over the course of the next franchise if we are to have a longer term future. Without that it is doubtful we will get new investment or perhaps not get another franchise. So thoughts of other grounds are somewhat irrelevent.
