| moto748: ChampagneSuperRovers: wiggn2: Also before Hull scored - Kendall made up a knock-on against Smith when the Hull player just dropped it and then Wardle was picked up off the ground and put into touch. Basically gave them the game.
What, like a tactic Wigan do, every single game , off the ground at times too? One rule for one eh But what I will say, I absolutely despise the tactic from anyone, it's so negative and anti RL. Not entertaining or skillful in the slightest
IMO the tactic is fair enough, but doesn't the ball-carrier need to have feet on the ground? My understanding was, that if a player is lifted so that his feet are off the ground, the ref needs to call Held immediately. So as long as that rule is fairly applied, I don't have a problem with it.
I also thought the rule was that held was called as soon as a teammate of the attacker joined the tackle, but I haven't seen that called all year

| bonaire: Simba16: Baron and Martin looked good prospects - did they both come through the Hull Academy?
They did and both came from a football backgroundBarron 21 was on the books of Scun thorpe united and Martin 20 was with Hull City
I wasn't 100% sure so didn't want to guess, I thought they had played against our Academy a couple of years back and given them a hiding! Really good signs for Hull, great that they (and Moy) are getting their chance.

| I turned off at HT and went on Red Vee to say that Wigan were winning the lot again and that HKR are the only team that can get close to them. Obviously that aged well.
I've said before that I think the pitch will be a huge problem to Wigan and I stand by that. There seemed to be sand in a lot of places and it is not conducive to the style of rugby you play. It makes you wonder if it has impacted on Field doing his hamstring. When you played in Vegas on that 3G style pitch it was like watching it on fast forward.

| Pretty woeful performance in that second half. Peet shouldn't have left Keighran out there. He should of taken him off at half time, played Leeming at 6. I think that would of given Farrell and Eckersley/Marshall (i think he switched Marshall and Eckersley round towards the end) more confidence on their inside shoulder.
The most dissapointing part of the second half was Smith's performance. He should of took that game by the scruff of the neck and killed it with his kicking game. For some reason, we just kept trying to outscore them rather than control the game and for me that has to be Smith's responsiblity when we've lost our fullback, have an injured stand off and then lost Ellis too.
It was a good game in the end, credit to Hull who scored some great tries. Unfortunately, we cant win them all.
