| Gutted about tonight's game. I'll probably have to watch the match again to get some more in depth opinions but here are my immediate thoughts:
Discipline was shocking, no excuse for some of the penalties. Gleeson being offside at the scrum is one that stands out as being totally unacceptable. Joel Tomkins needs to play a bit smarter too.
We're not physical enough, but we knew that already. None of our lads were prepared to mix it tonight against a huge Wire pack, and they battered us. We are crying out for a sh*thouse prop or some one who isn't afraid to stand up to the opposition (Hock can't come back soon enough).
Handling was shocking. Obviously conditions were poor for both sides but that's no excuse for the amount of dropped ball we produces tonight. Some stupid errors from the likes of Prescott and Carmont that again, aren't acceptable at this level.
Silverwood was absolutely shocking (yes, Wire fans will highlight this and laugh). Referees are ruining Super League games by being so bloody pedantic and slowing the game to their speed, and then missing bleeding obvious errors (one example being Riddell's "knock-on" when we had the momentum about 65 minutes in, that was clearly ripped). Also Child's failure to spot Mathers' knock on probably cost us the game today (although in all seriousness we didn't deserve to win it).
Finally, big raps to Richards, Tuson, Riddell and Farrell. Really put everything into it, and didn't deserve to be on the losing side (few did to be fair).
I didn't enjoy tonight's game, and there was an air of inevitability about us losing right from the first 20 when we failed to capitalise on such a poor start from Warrington. That said, we have come so far this year, will probably win the League Leader's trophy, and we're going to be right up there next year, because we're only a couple of signings from once again being [ithe[/i side to beat.

| I think with the size of Wires pack to have a bench of Mossop Tuson Farrell and Deacon and only use Deacon for the final 8 minutes is something to look towards. Were really short of some pure size. Im a fan of the 3 forwards we had on the bench but all 3 with little experience and size compared to Wires was asking for trouble in a top of a table clash.

| All the comments above are valid.
We need some muscle up front and we missed Coley.
Also, this isn't the first time that Madge has picked a poor reserve bench. We needed forwards on that bench, and why did he pick Deacon ? To pick them and not play them is weird.

| Agree with regards to Riddell, Richards, Farrell and Tuson, our 4 best players by a mile today.
How Wire never got caught offside at the scrum is unbelievable, i can't remember them actually being onside at a single one.

| Was a poor game. I have no doubt I will be lambasted by some on here, who for whatever reason can see no wrong in the current setup, however, fortunately I don't care.
Once again we have bottled the big game.
MM I have no doubt will be a great coach in the future. However, in coaching terms, he is a kid.
He has undoubtabley brought a fresh attitude to Wigan, he has new ideas and has clearly learned a lot from Bellamy.
However, I question his ability to deliver that "X factor" when it comes to big games, at least I do at the moment. I have no doubt he will aquire it in time, but at the moment he doesn't have it.
Hopefully Wigan can kick on and win irrespective of this, but I really have seen no "plan B" from this guy yet.

| Lost it in the forwards for me, although i thought Morley had a shocker, but Prescott and Fielden were worse. Prescott for me just isnt good enough, O'Carroll and Coley cant come back soon enough. Hope Mossops injury isnt serious.

Discipline was poor, i have thought that about JT a few times this year although have put it down to youth thus far.
To say we were not physical enough and not prepared to mix it is absolute nonesense and an injustice to our players who worked their socks off against a much bigger team. It does highlight that whenever we loose either Fielden or Coley we struggle, especially against the better sides.
I can understand your comment about the handling however most of those i would put down to good defence rather than poor handling. I lost count of the times wire hit the ball or ball carrying arm with force.
I don't think Silverwood was too bad, a couple of wierd ones but you expect that from any ref. Damn site better than Bentham. Mathers didn't knock on however i would argue the ball was kicked out of Farrells hands so should of been a penalty/drop out rather than a knock on.
The difference for me was wire taking their chances in the first half when we didn't, i also felt we didn't get that little bit of luck you need to win a game like that.

| Lost it in the forwards battle
Myler was offside I think, will watch it again.
Richards no try was the same as the Meli one.
They played dirty in the first 20 mins.
Why was it wires ball when Mathers messed up from Joel Tomkins kick through?

| I agree with a lot of the replies. We missed Coley a hell of a lot, and I didn't think Fielden stepped us as I'd have liked him too either.
As for the bench, I'd have had Paleaaesina in there today. Yes he has his weaknesses, and he's off at the end of the season, but we might as well use him while we can. Given the conditions, and the size of Wire's front row, why we had our biggest and strongest runner sat in the stand I don't know. [I felt the same for the defeat to Leeds in the CC QF which was played in similar conditions.
