Anyone suprised that he has not announced his retirement yet?



Not played for two years and suffered yet another injury set back what do people think would be a realistic option for him beyond this season?



Can't see Wigan offering him anything on the playing front now but could a role on the coaching team be a possibility in 2013?

Will be Bradford/Wakefield/Salford bound

As a player?

I dont see why not. I think he has just been unlucky by having several different injuries rather than a constant recurrence of the same one (although I could very well be wrong)



A 100% Stuart Fielden would still be better than most of the props playing in teams outside the top 7 or 8 teams

Big Stu won't play again unfortunately

Had he managed a few games this season I would of agreed but I can't see even one of the bottom clubs offering him anything half decent in 2013 contract wise.



However I do think that he could add a lot to somebody's back room staff with his experience.



I had heard that he was finished but wondered why he had not announced his retirement if that were the case.

Phil Clarke said Friday that he was due to play in the 20's in a week or two.

Meh! What does Phil Clarke know? He only spoke to Stuart face to face on Friday. I prefer to take note of the all knowing all seeing experts on here.

It is odd.



I noticed that Clarkes comments were very different than the impressed Wane gave the other week.......... Mind games from Wane? Hope so.

No i think stu had a 2 week set back which has aslmost blown any chance of a first team recall. If its 2 weeks before he plays in the 20's he will only be available for first team for 1st round play off's etc, a big gamble throwing someone in who has not played for 2 years straight in to play off intensity.



I think Fielden would need 3-4 games back in reserve grade which could mean semi final play off at best. We wiould need to have injuries before he would be picked i feel.

Another 2 or 3 years and he'll be old enough to play for Warrington...

Shame for him really



BUT sadly that's the cruelty of sport.



His mind might be ready but it looks like his body is letting him down.



I certainty wouldn't offer him a deal for next season we've already got Mossop and Prescott who have their fair share of injuries.
