| Quote Cherry.Pie="Cherry.Pie"That pretty much proves that the initial contact was with the chest, that Joel won the collision and pushed outwards and Yeaman slid down and that's when the forearm/elbow made contact with the neck. The second still is the most telling.

I'd imagine you'll be wrong, feel free to quote me tomorrow.

I admire your loyalty towards your resident idiot, even Ryan Bailey has never been this blatant.

| Quote tommyfromhull="tommyfromhull"However, all angles have to be taken into consideration.

JT's right forearm may have, initially, made contact with Yeaman's chest, but his left hand made direct contact with his face.'"
That angle shows Yeaman at Joel's chest height, so after the initial contact and proving that he slipped down whilst making the tackle. Also the left hand makes contact with Yeaman's jaw but his fist isn't clenched.
Wire successfully got Carvell off for a charge of leading with the forearm based on the fact that he didn't clench his fists when going into the tackle claiming it proved there was no intention to injure the player with the forearm.
That picture suggests that it's Joel's left hand that makes the most contact with Yeaman rather than the elbow.

Why is Tomkins leg raised then? Maybe to gain height advantage?,Yeaman slid down , all I see is Yeamans head being knocked back by a combination of Tomkins hand and elbow.

His leg is raised because he leans into the tackle to get more force behind when he pushes out. You can see it in the second still above. That picture from behind Yeaman is taken at the same moment as the final still, when Joel is pushing forwards with his left foot, so the right leg is raised for the next stride (the basic principles or walking/running/striding).

| Joels palm of his hand makes contact with Yeamans face looking at the close up and his ball carrying arm initially makes contact with his chest. If thats a ban its absolute .

A shocking incident I hope he gets 3-4 matches. FFS people freeze framing a high speed collision. The elbow rarely if ever goes up into the face of the player like that in normal play. When it does it's because there is intent.

I'm guessing you've never seen Nick Fozzard play?

Yes, it makes much more sense to show a high speed collision at normal speed where it's harder to work out what actually happens because it isn't as clear or, as is the case here, it doesn't suit your argument.
Do you remember the Sam Burgess hit on Moi Moi back in the England - NZ international a couple of years back? Burgess uses the same technique making the tackle that Joel does going into this tackle and cracks Moi Moi on the jaw. That was deemed as fair.

And your calling Sam tomkins a wimp on the other thread?
If there was intent with Joels elbow to smash Yeamans face they would still be picking up the remains of him off the pitch.

| There is a very small minority of Wigan fans on here who come out with much credit at times like this by admitting a player may have done something wrong - it's always the same, sensible people too.

| Joel was absolutely stupid and needs to learn a valuable lesson from this. He gets wound up far too easily and can be a liability at times and opposing teams know they can get to him and win penalties or in Sundays case get him sent off. He has a lot of talent but has started off this season poorly imo and needs to step up.
