| We happened to be in Bowness a couple of months back when it made an appearance at the Windermere airshow.
It was incredible.
To begin his display the pilot flew so slowly down the lake you thought it wouldn't stay up! and it was virtually silent. Then he just pointed it to the sky and let rip... Awesome noise!
Strange how a plane, you have no connection to, can make you feel proper proud!

Feel the same way about the "Battle of Britain" flight - the spit still sounds awesome - sends a tingle up your spine.

Well it was completed last July, so I'm guessing the warranty must have expired by now, so let's hope it runs smoothly!!!

| Visited Rhosneigr (not far from Valley) and Betws-y-Coed during the summer and when those fighter jets roar over your head you certainly know about it, they're awesome to see and hear.

| hope you dont mind an anecdote from t'other side of the 'ills.
Used to see the Vulcans regularily fly over the part of leeds i lived at when a kid.Could see them on North/South flights from miles away(exhaust is jet black),always figured our house was a target as they flew low overhead.,lol!
Yanks used to go gaga over them when in service and participating in REDFLAG EXERCISES in Nevada. They had never seen anything like them fly so low or aerobatically through the desert canyons!!!I did read that when they were due to do flights, the observation rooms which monitored the target areas were jammed with folk wanting to watch the CCTV as "the ALUM-IN-UM OVERCAST" went through.
By the way...as i recall they were designed as HIGH LEVEL bombers and subsequently used LOWLEVEL....but still only had TWO ejector seats with a crew of 5 i think.
Bored you enough so off now....cheers peeps.

| I once saw a Hercules flying through the valley that runs from Holmfirth to Greenfield. Quite a surreal sight to see a plane of that size flying almost next to you.
