Because it shows a good spirit, a decency and respect for the opposition, teaching kids about sportsmanship and decorum.

I would much rather be a Sportsmanlike Wigan RL fan that shows respect for other teams than a Leeds or Warrington fan ( I know its not all of them ) that boo an England player because he plays for Wigan. Clear off back to Association Football I say .

There's no need for it what so ever, opposing players will think what a bunch of soft ar5e mugs. Wane has to be careful about what he says regarding the fans, but I get the feeling such actions grate on him, just like they do to many of the passionate Wigan fans who wouldn't clap an opposing player onto the pitch if threatened to lose an arm.



Certain sections of our fans could learn a lot from the likes of Wire, FC, KR, Cas on what real passionate support actually is. Too happy to jump on our own players backs than the oppostions.

I've been to the DW on many occasions watching Wire and you always boo us out???

These club's with FR also having some of the worse troublemakers over the many years, I have supported the game.

It'll be a sad sad day for Wigan and RL in particular if we took this stance.



There is nothing wrong at all with sportsmanlike behaviour, and to suggest that supporters who politely applaud the opposition are not passionate about their team is ignorance of the highest order.

If you're not kicking another fans head in or at least giving them and their teams' players abuse from the stands then you're not a true fan and are disgrace to the club.

I clap certain sides onto the pitch and I stay silent for others. It's my personal choice.



The big question should really be 'why boo your own team off the pitch?' Now that I don't understand. Yes it is your choice to do so or not but surely as a supporter you get behind them as opposed to getting on their backs??

I would never boo my side off, I just can't understand that at all... We pays our money, and are free to express ourselves, but thats just not something i have ever wanted to do.

Agreed. If they haven't played well enough to warrant my applause then I do nothing. I certainly don't boo.
