You've picked up three really good players there. Gil Dudson is a monster of a player and Ben Flower is a work-horse who is improving year on year. Both really nice fellas too. Rhodri has actually only just turned 18 and is a real star of the future. The Wales under 18 captain, he's the youngest player to have ever won a full Welsh cap (last year v Italy aged just 17), and a Welsh speaker (he spoke about the move on Radio Cymru today) which helps with bi-lingual promotions here. And the link you were looking at from Wales Online - www.walesonline.co.uk/sports/par ... -28508278/ - two teams made up entirely of Welsh speakers. I know the last couple of sentences has nothing to do with his performances but thought I'd mention it anyway. But as I said, three good prospects for you, probably the best of their respective ages and standards in Wales.

| Hopefully this will start to attract some Welsh support over to the DW over the next few years too.

Thanks for the info.
Gil Dudson at 21 has plenty of potential. That was clearly evident from his performances against the best packs in the world. With the coaching at Wigan, coupled with the face he'll be surrounded by better players and the fact we have the best conditioning team and facilities in Super League - he could definitely flourish into a fantastic player.
Ben Flower I'm a little unsure about. At 24, he is coming out of the stage where I'd class him as a young kid. He could show a mammoth improvement at Wigan - the same as Dudson - but I wont deny that the signing of Dudson excites me more than Flower (fantastic name incidentally for an RL player).
The one who has fallen under the radar is evidently one of the hottest talents in Welsh rugby - this Rhodri Lloyd lad. The fact he is a centre is a massive coup because we're struggling to produce centres at Wigan - as are the vast majority of the clubs in Super League. Look on every forums rumours thread and the posters are all predominantly talking about how they need a centre, where is one going to come from etc. Hope this lad rips it up in our outstanding academy and fulfills his perceived potential.

He's a loose forward or second row. At least he has been when playing for South Wales and for the Welsh under 18's.

If Lloyd has only just turned 18 then he may still be eligible for the U18's at Wigan next year. If so then that will be one of the most talented teams ever to represent Wigan at junior academy level.

Are we on about the same player here?
Quote Cherry.PieThe Wigan Club also confirms the signing of highly respected young Centre Rhodri Lloyd, 18, on an initial 2-year contract. Rhodri had been playing for South Wales Scorpions and became the youngest player to represent the Welsh National team in a full international recently. He also captained the Wales U18 side that defeated England Community Lions 29-28 last weekend, scoring two tries during the game.'"
Are you saying the official site is mistaken? I hope he's a blimmin' centre!

The SWS have him listed as a second row on their website. Wikipedia has him listed as 'the halves' and Newport Dragons list him as a centre.
