I'm a Fielden fan, and believe his experience next season, in view of the people leaving, would be invaluble if he stayed and was fit. Problem is that this appearance is all a little late in the season for those of us on the sideline to judge. Only those working with him will know just how fit, injury wise, he is. And indeed whether he wishes to be a part of the setup moving forward. Plans for forthcoming seasons would have been already made, and not dependant on his getting fit at this late stage in the 2012 season.

the reason i don't want him here is because of his age and also 1 injury and he'd probably be knackered for rest of the season, fair enough his experience would come in handy but too much of an injury risk for me

depends what kind of contract he would be on............you can't deny that he would certainly be a benefit if he was fit for at least 75% of the season

I suppose if he had a pay as you play contract and we still brought in a much needed prop then that might be ok, it's just the though of him getting injured in the first few games and not playing again till playoffs and being lumbered with his wages when those wages could have gone towards a younger more healthy and up for it player to replace him

To be fair BBB, an injury such as you describe could happen to anyone, and would not be dependant on age..

In the salary cap era can you even have those types of contract? I dont really see how they could work without severely holding back cap space in case Fielden plays a full season.

Wasn't price on something like that?
