| Yesterday League weekly run an article on the licensing system, our Chief Exec was invited to give his view. Instead of taking the chance to point the systems flaws and unfairness, the exact things that are going to see us out, he went on about the positives and how P/R was bad for the game. The whole thing was a one sided bit of propaganda that our Chief exec played along to.
Are these views really of a person that has our best interests at heart? How can he be so passionate about a system that is so flawed and corrupt that it’s going to reject a club that’s is far from the weakest. Why not take the chance in that article to question the process and lack of transparency?
I had my doubts about this guy when he jumped ship before then made a return when things didn’t work out elsewhere. At Glovers first audience with night with I asked Elston the question, would we take legal action if we are kicked out at the expense of a weaker franchise. He just went on to say that it was in our own hands to win a franchise and expansion is here to stay. This might as well be Richard Lewis talking, what the hell, it’s not like he’s a Wakey fan or the owner of this club, he just another wage earner. When were gone from SL he will probably move on to find alternative employment in the game in due course. No point rocking the boat with your RFL buddies is there James.
Mr Glover, watch carefully who you take advice off.

But Im not one of them and I agree entirely... he will be off down the road to Castleford next year with his wife hand in hand skipping up Heath Common.

| he'd be condemned by us all if he slated the rfl in public for shooting wakefield trinity in the foot.
i don't see what qualifies him to hold the position he does to be honest, but then the same could be said for most of the people we employ.
you get what you pay for.

I think you need to be realistic here.
For starters Elston does, says and thinks exactly what Glover tells him. Lets not try to paint Glover as some kind of innocent in all this pleeeaaazzze.
Regardless of whether you think the club and the RFL are in cahoots over this and have been for month - or - you think the club is valiantly fighting the RFL all the way. One thing is for sure, we turn it into a public slanging match - we lose any slim chance we still might have.

| Isn't he in more of a 'damned if you do or damned if you don't' situation? Let's not forget that many of the decisions made at Red Hall are purely agenda driven. Realistically would anyone in his position with next week's announcement looming come out and put the RFL to the sword? I think not. Whilst there is the slimmest of chances we could get lucky next Tuesday (IMHO we have two kinds of Hope, No & Bob). Rightly or wrongly JE has no option but to publicly praise the franchise system. I have worked in PR in the past and I have seen and heard many people privately be against certain things but publicly adopt a different stance in order to play the game.
Just look over the common at RW. If he could bag what he was spouting he would have sold enough fertilizer to have the money to build a stadium to rival Wembley.

| A look at Elstons twitter account perhaps shows that he's not entirely happy with the way the licensing process has been handled.

I must say, given his position, I was surprised he posted it although a swift backtrack followed.

Depends who his next job is with.
If Trinity do go down the best route to take is the Steve O’Connor way and not the Allan Rowley way.

Especially from the record of the clubs he has been employed with for signing players from outside the country they are based in. And convince me, had the winter we had not happened, we would not have a lot more imports in our squad. Far too hypocritical there.

Having said that, it is interesting reading articles from the last round of licenses;
www.sportindustry.biz/news/view/ ... eague-snub
=#FF0000[iLewis also defended the decision to go with the Crusaders commenting: ‘Market research suggests that we have a lot of support for rugby league and the Super League in Wales.
‘It's a calculated risk to go with Crusaders. They put together a good application and convinced us they can make a real success of being a Super League club. Look at the Catalans Dragons - they have been a massive success story. They've gone from bottom of the table in their first year - when they would've been relegated had it not been for licensing back then - and now they're third in the table, have sell out crowds every week and are a top side.
‘With that in mind, Celtic Crusaders might, too, surprise everybody. We're confident about them even though it's a big step up. However they, just like the other 13 clubs, now have to deliver. [/i
