We need to release a statement and soon, the more the council communicate the better they look and worse we look. This statement makes it sound like we are totally in the wrong and while I'm inclined to not believe them...why would someone who doesn't support us think anything other than we're being awkward?

Didn't see that one coming but it's still meaningless drivel. So you build a stadium on the site of an existing stadium but without a club to play in it, not even the one whose played in it for the last 100 year - utterly ludicrous.

How could anyone justify building a RL ground without having someone to play there and who will pay the rent ?

Quite bizarre, unless they are certain that Trinity will come begging or, that a certain someone is trying to oust MC & CB

Interesting times.

It’s actually a very clever move. Without us the stadium doesn’t need to be as ‘grandiose’ ( I use that term lightly) and as such they can get away with a smaller, less costly build and/or other MUGA pitches and facilities, depending on which other clubs show an interest. It covers their obligation for some community facilities and they can say the offer was there for us and we turned it down so downscaling is the right thing to do. At the same time it makes us seem like the sponging bad guys and the council the heroes trying to help. They’ve even got the Daily Star guy reporting it who had previously been on our side. This could be the killer move.

Their not though that's the problem. What they are doing is creating layers after layer of issues that cannot be quickly resolved.



It's an old tactic, it's attritional warfare. They want us to get bogged down in negotiation that will never be resolved in the hope we either go bust or go away.



We need to cut to the chase now and take direct legal action against the source WMDC and York Court. Forget about BV and concentrate in the incompetent, illegal and corrupt non delivery of NM and associated facilities. THIS IS WHERE THE LEGAL MEAT IS - THIS IS WHERE THE OBLIGATION TO THE TAX PAYER WAS AND STILL IS.



We can't force them to re-vamp BV and they know it - we may be able to force them to build NM and they are scared stiff of that.

Except there is that old chestnut of that trigger point that with or without the white montrosity hasn't been reached. They made be morally off the scale but legally they haven't broken the law yet until they build beyond that 60,000 SQM point, which isn't going to happen until that part of your post where we go bust and no longer require it takes place. They've got us by the short & curlies and they know it.

If they can build a stadium 'just like that' then why did they not do it years ago instead of giving us the "nothing to do with us guv" line ?

Different owners, they'd have had to shell out to buy it. Now if only the club/trust had bought it when it was there for the taking instead of 88M instead of receiving bad advice......
