Said a few weeks ago that our Acadamy was a bit threadbare but in true trinity style I'm now not so sure. So what have we got in the locker...





Well Cain Southernwood looks very likely to break through in the next few years if he gets free of injury - anyone know the score?



Luke George - well he was almost there pre injury, he just needs a chance and to get stuck in.



Gareth Potts - looks a decent winger but maybe a bit small.



Greg Eden - looks to have a bit of class.



James Davey - keeps improving, an outside bet.



Chris Anakin - looks a very good prospect.



??? Griffin - youngest of the Griffins and by all accounts potentially the best, a real handfull



There are a few others who could turn it around but the above are IMHO the best.



If say four of them made it and were added to the last crop of Pitts, Fergy, Murphy and Bibb that would make 8 home grown players, 10 if you add Blaymire and Brough. I think 10 homegrown players is respectable for any club but quite spectacular by our recent standard.



Finally before folk say anything I realise non of them might make it, just speculating.



Second finally I notice Liam Campbell is doing quite well in Cumbria. Is he worth a second look as I always rated him - remember Sam Obst was a reject but deserved a second chance which is what many Aussies get in SL - might be interesting to offer a British player a similar courtesy it's not like it didn't work with Moore, Wilkes and Bibey

Anakin will make it, the force is strong in that one.













It’s been used before but it still makes me chuckle.

We seem to be casting our net a little bit wider. The boy Pickles who we signed from Leeds Rugby Union had a great game in the under 18`s against Hull, he looks like son of Brad Drew.



The Reserve grade gave a debut to Sam Scott at Hull last Saturday, we got him from Yorkshire RU. Reports from the game suggest that he very much looks the part a great prospect.

Good to see that the club appear to be actively looking for talent in all areas. Would’ve thought the exposure they got in QEG’s will have helped recruit a few more RU juniors int he future.

jonh will be purring at that, TBF he has been banging on about it for ages - wonder if he will give us the credit or somehow manufacture a Wigan angle

To be fair Vasty I think wakefield are the second best club at recruiting junior talent in Yorkshire behind Leeds and Bradford.





You can leave no stone unturned, and as it goes i have been involved in poiting out 1 or 2 players of late out to the club which is being followed up on sadly that club is Wigan.



There are some cracking players coming through some real big talents with plenty of athletic ability. Liam Goodaire, Jacob Pryce are too lads who due to there frame could be a real assett for you.



Any club not looking towards junior Union really is letting themselves down.

Is it worth the time and effort into training another Griffin up for Shuddersfield?

You have sent George away once and he came back so maybe he has some future at Trinity.

I think that was a sarcastic dig at Vasty over another thread on cherry & white

deliberate error mate bit of a private joke hence the wording check the post by Vasty on the Wigan forum about how Wigan should take Trinity on. Needless to say he did not take too well to his error being pointed out.
