| Sometimes when I post on here I wonder if I'm being very simplistic and naïve. This is one such occasion but I'll post anyway.
There are two ground issues going on at present. The long running NM fiasco seems to be the main one at the moment.
The other is where do we play in the meantime. Can't be BV for much longer unless things regarding NM are rectified in the very near future.
The favourite seems to be Dewsbury, both short and long term. The issue seems to be how long the RFL will allow us to play there.
Now this is where I'm probably being simplistic but why do we have to be Wakefield, why can't we just be Trinity or even Trinity Renegades (for example). Drop the Wakefield bit for now as regards the team. Arsenal, Saracens and Wasps for example - no geographical ties.
I was thinking along the lines of forming two companies. The existing club based in Wakefield, and it's wholly owned subsidiary based at the Dewsbury Stadium. This retains a presence in Wakefield, creates a new SL club in Dewsbury.
I know it may be naïve and it's a fiddle but could it be done? Maybe not how I've phrased it but something along those lines.
Effectively we are selling our SL franchise to ourselves. It's probably all wrong but hey I just wondered.

| Fair idea and not naive at all. If we are to play outside of the city, how about with any spare cash we buy / lease Cafe Nero (or simmilar) and make it the headquarters. A cafe bar in the centre of Wakefield rather than simply a shop would be a great asset and a focal point for Club Trinity, players and families, not just purchasers of shirts, drinkers etc.

| The name is important to me. Over a hundred years of history in that.
I don't mind if we move. I do mind if we change the name.
A big part of the identity of the club is in that name.

| And Arsenal does actually refer to the original location and Wasps got their name as they split from the original club (along with Harlequins. Not sure about Sarrys.
The point for them is they chose their name before the identity was set. I'll bet you none of them want to change it now.

| Not for me. Wakefield Trinity is steeped in history and is recognised in places all over the world. Peter Box would be grinning like the proverbial cat. Remember our old saying Wakefield til I die.

| I'd go as far as to say I'd rather play in Dewsbury and keep the name than play in Wakefield and lose it.

| I left Wakefield 39 years ago and still say that that's where I'm from: I would be very sad to see Trinity not do the same, but if a permanent relocation to another place occurred, it would be difficult not to rename. The "Wasps" name avoided that dilemma, when they upped sticks from London/M25-land: if we go from Wakey for good, then stand-alone "Trinity" would get my vote.

| Of all the good things MC has done, bringing back TRINITY ranks amongst the best.
As far as Wakefield is concerned, the City centre is becoming a third world dump and the council are an inept embarrassment. I once was proud of Wakefield but rapidly I am loosing all loyalty.
TRINITY playing up the road at Owl Lane is far more appealing to me than walking through the back streets of filth and degradation to that dump we call a ground.

| I don't think it's naive, I think it's downright ridiculous. If I'm going to support a team from Dewsbury that's not called Wakefield then I might as well just follow Dewsbury instead. Or Brisbane Broncos. Both would be just as relevant.

That's fine, however I don't think you get it - we are leaving Wakefield that's for certain unless a miracle occurs and we need to survive whether you like it or not. So what's your alternative, if it's less ridiculous I'd run with it,
