Harry Pinner

Danny Mcguire, i would have agreed a few years ago, but as he has got older he has become more than just a support runner and you only have to look how much better the Leeds side is with him in it. Ive lost count of the number of times he has won them games on his own with a match winning try or assist and that includes semis and major finals which is when the true top class players come into there own.



Mcnamara is the big one for me. I thought he played his best rugby at Hull when he was young and they were playing him at prop just before he left. After that i thought he was average in a very good Bradford side. He played under so many good coaches who had him in the side everyweek, but i just could not see what he offered?? What was i missing???



Player that i thought was average until they signed for Wakey and i got to watch them every week and realised i was wrong = Mike Forshaw. Did he not keep us up on his own 1 year?? Even playing SO in parts?!



Player that i thought was average before they signed and then realised i was right = Julian O'Neill/Jeremy Smith



Player that i thought was good until they signed at which point i realised they were average = Ged Byrne

For me if Wellens had 2 yards more pace he would have being world class

That counts with a lot of players to be fair. Personally I think Wellens limitations are well known so I do get him.



Sinfield, yep someone please tell me what he's about - he's good but not that good.

Sinfield has a good kicking game and can kick goals but other than that is not that good IMO.

I thought Sculthorpe was top quality add to that him putting Baily on his backside with 1 punch then he was one of my non Wakey favoutites!

If a good leader is a player who gets sent off just before half time in the most important game in the clubs recent history leaving his team mates who he is supposed to be setting a good example to one player short for 40 minutes then you are right .



Billy Conway was a great defender but if could in forward too.

This was my first thought.

Ged Byrne was a good example. Got in a great Wigan side week in week out as a utility back. Toppo paid 75 grand for him and said he would be the missing link in our team if was average for us.

He wasn't. He didn't even last the full season with us.
