Why is that??



Is he going to "man up" and actually dare to accept the ball after he has illegally tackled/punched/kicked one of our players, or is he going to do his usual punch someone, refuse to then take the ball and end up hiding on the bench???

what a great night, we were guests of wakefield bathrooms, and i want to go next year,very proffesional, the players were gr8, if they got fed up with having photos taken, they never showed it, really friendly night, Eddie wasn't bad and said all the right things about our club (whether that transports on to t.v is another matter). No official announcements on signings, it was more a night of what happened last season,the group(back for good) were excellent. The only rumours i got were what has been talked about on other threads, re: kear to batley, cockayne to us and mcgoldrick ( not sure if this started because he attended last night).

I would recommend this night next year to anyone who can make it. Well done to everyone involved in the organisation of the night.

Spoke to james Elston and he said they felt that last night wasn't the night to look at the future, they wanted to give the fullest respect to the players and coaches for this year.

He goes on holiday today but look out later this week for a couple of announcements re players. (Hopefully not McGoldrick!!)

He was probably looking to see if the scoreboard was replaced for his family to borrow it again

At the end of the presentations Eddie Hemmings paid a special tribute to the 5+ years that John Kear has had at Trinity. There was an accompanying video charting some of the best moments followed by a reflective interview with JK.



John was asked to return to the stage where he received a huge standing ovation which went on for some time and briefly moved JK to tears. It was a fitting display of appreciation of what JK has contributed to Wakefield Trinity. The highs of a CC Semi and Play offs, his ability to navigate the lows of our financial crisis and the way he conveyed great compassion but quiet resolve in the face of the tragic loss of Adam Watene & Leon Walker. Eddie Hemmings was genuinely moved, shocked that a departing coach could be leaving with such a rapturous show of appreciation rather than the normal derision.



The Scholarship, Academy and U20 award winners were also brought up to the stage to be recognised.



The back room staff who are leaving were given mementoes of their time at the club.



The Wakefields Got Talent winner banged out a few songs and she was very very good.



Back for Good were also excellent and probably sound more like Take That than Take That themselves.



556 people there!



Reception rooms were just right, enough bar staff, nice welcome from ushers and we weren't kept waiting too long before being moved into the marquee.



The venue was superb even if it did sway in the wind a bit.



Food was very nice, served quickly, hot and plenty of it.



Andrew Glover wants to make the event even bigger and better next year and a goal of 1,000 shouldn't be beyond us if this years event is anything to go by.

He'll go anywhere for a pint!

McGoldrick was only in attendance last night as the guest of a sponsor. MOT city (I think) sponsored some of the awards last night but also sponsor McGoldrick at Cas. Do not put 2 + 2 together and get 50.

We were keeping that quiet, we've already hooked a couple of Tigger fans with it, you've spoilt it now!

Oops sorry about that. Just can't stand even the thought of it!
