| Quote 8ULL5HITT4="8ULL5HITT4"Other than Leeds that's the same for any club in West Yorks ...... maybe you can join the W. Yorkshire Championship along with the rest of us.'"
How is it the same for the rest of you?
Did your Chairman make the same statement?
Do all the other clubs have no pro football in their city/Town?
Have all the other clubs had a top flight RU club go bust because of lack of support?
I get that all clubs find a level but Wakefield is in the top 15 largest Cities in the country yet the residents can't get behind ANY form of pro sports club who represents the City.
I've always been proud to say I am from Wakefield yet there seems to be very few others with any kind of civic pride for the City, I'm in the very small minority!
Lately, I've had cause to question just why I'm so loyal and proud and if I'm honest with myself I'm struggling more and more to understand and justify it to myself!

| Bulls chairman made similar noises in similar circumstances but I was more alluding to the fact that there is little support in West Yorkshire for professional sport. No top flight soccer or Union....although Carnegie fans may argue otherwise. I don't think it's just about competition between sports, or even clubs, but more about disposable incomes. Watching sport is expensive....I hate to think how much I've spent over the years and couldn't calculate the cost/ benefit. It's more expensive for many at Bulls than last year. It's probably too late for me to break the habit but not sure what could replace it. More tellingly, my kids have no interest but I'm working on the grandkids.......... I don't really see things changing. Look at how Bulls support rose and faded over the years.....crowds started the decline whilst they were still successful.

| It's the same old vicious circle - the club needs fans through the gate but spectators won't come to watch dross! Unfortunately, give or take a few false dawns, we've had dross ever since we got in to SL (or at least, inconsistency). Perhaps a spell, hopefully successful, in the Championship would give us a chance to rebuild and come back stronger. Still prefer to stay in SL though!!!

| I am a season ticket holder and I will not waste three hours of my life going to watch a team that has no commitment. I will return to the club if and when they actually try to play rugby. I think Schofield was right when he said that none of our players would get into any other Super league side. I can honestly say I have never seen a team that looks so unfit and without a clue, the team was blowing bubbles all through the game, they don't deserve to be be playing in superleague, they need to find another career as they are clearly not rugby players and yes the coach has to take some responsibility for this. There rant over.

| Quote The Avenger="The Avenger"Michael Carter said right at the beginning of his tenure that we'd get the club that the level of support dictates!
We simply do not have enough people in the City of Wakefield who are prepared to spend their money and take the time to watch Wakefield Trinity or any other professional sport for that matter!
No pro football not even decent semi pro and those we do have get 250 on a good day
Wakefield RU are history now because they got no support and Trinity will go the same way eventually.'"
If we had kept up being a top club like we were in the 60s we would still be one of the biggest clubs in the game. Sadly we have shown no ambition on and off the field for 50 years and run like a small town club with no ambition. No other SL club has had the lack of success we have had for the last 50 years. I have no worries about our support if we had a team that could compete every week in a stadium fit for purpose our attendances would be the higher end of the league. If we'd have had the sustained success St Helens have had we would be getting better crowds than them in my opinion. As a club they should be doing better at representing the City of Wakefield and should have been for the last 50 years.

| M C also said we would have a team that would compete in the S L. It's a bit of a cop out to blame the Wakey public for not turning up. Who would want to watch the dross on display at the moment. I thought the club employed a sales and marketing person an ex Man Utd team member. I remember before the season started a discussion regarding sales and marketing and M C was not convinced any revenues would be added. Well the clubs reaping the rewards now.

| It is a very sad state of affairs.
Cant really blame anyone in the city for not supporting Wakefield, they simply are not worth supporting.
The club has been badly mismanaged (some would allege corruption and i'd be inclined to agree) for many years and ultimately it is the supporters who pay the price.
Carter says all the right things, but the proof would be an improvement in the overall state of the club... we haven't seen one. The club is becoming a farce... they couldn't even find the keys to to the toilet behind the North Stand last night.
All in all I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel. RIP WTW.

Wakefield went bust because of the lack of financial backing when the code turned professional, in those days clubs attracted players because of their status and climbed the social ladder through invitational matches not how many fans you attracted, unfortunately at the advent of professionalism nondescript clubs like Rotherham who had more money than breeding could offer what Wakefield could not, more money for players, a bit like this other Wakefield side.
Although I no longer live in Wakefield, I was born and bred on Eastmoor and that's something I am proud of and always will be, maybe you've not made yourself clear enough, because I'm unsure why you should question your loyalty and your pride for the city, because if it's just the city I can't see what's to justify about it, on the other hand if it's the club you are disillusioned with and your certainly not on your own there, don't you think that they are two different issues and should be dealt with as such to save confusion.

| Quote SERENE="SERENE"It is really heart wrenching to admit, and say, but I see no point in continuing to be a WTW fan. The "club", over the last few years, have
managed to destroy my interest/support to the point of extinction.'"
So why the need advertise your lack of loyalty? I bet your one of these narcissistic types that post constantly on Facebook all in hope of collecting likes for your own self esteem. Fans should man up, were going through the mother of all injury crisis it happens every now and then. Unfortunately for us we have the lowest playing budget and the thus the weakest strength in depth in SL. Man Up!!!!!

Wakey remarkably, is the 11th largest city in the UK here :-

The fact that a mere 1.2% watch its only professional sporting team is totally baffling.

Imagine the support and potential corporate support if we had a good team and a good stadium. Think that's why some fans & officials of some small town clubs are desperate for our new stadium to fail, offering support to opposition groups and the like. We are the world famous Wakefield Trinity one day we will return to our 60s domination.
