Unfortunately, bigger clubs will always try and turn players like Tom's heads, especially if they start to gain international recognition. For what it's worth, I would be trying to get him into the England system if I had anything to do with it, alongside our own Greg Minikin. Thats where the Knights system worked. Now there would be a future England centre/wing partnership that could be special. I don't care which club he plays for, he's a talent, and it's nice to see players from clubs in our area getting the recognition rather than the usual suspects

Yes I'm surprised also, when he was announced of being in the shortlist it was. I don't know who updates the website but they need to crack on.

Indeed, for a club that is not usually blessed with good news, TJ getting the young player is a massive deal, for the lad and for Trinity.

When was the last time we got a young player of year award? Talking about it at work, did Michael Jackson get young player of year whilst with us and what about Nigel Wright

Think Jackso was in his early 20's when he joined us. Don't think poor old Wrighty played often enoug - so to answer your question I don't think we've ever had one?



Anyway congrats Tom from a fan of yours right fram the start - I said you had start quality written all over you and know that's no longer in doubt (unless you have a few bad games and then the usual suspects will be demanding you're dropped, that's fame for you).
