| Well done Danny. Happy we've signed him for another year.
I think he's got another year and brings goo stability. His stats this year shows he still has it

| Trinity through and through and fully deserved.
We need to manage his game time etc but, the bloke never gives anything less than 100% for Wakefield.

| Hard to argue with this - but I'd agree his involvement on the field should be dialled down a bit; there have been points in recent years where it's been quite clear that he was damaging himself by continuing to put his hand when he really shouldn't.
Danny is a top man, and has been very loyal through some difficult times - that's worth something in my book.

| This year he has coming into his own again, running the right lines and running them hard. He definitely dropped off but has found his feet again, more than happy for him to be around for another year.

| Got to agree with Vastman here, his stats are under average even in our side (never mind the league) however I would say currently he's in a better run of form currently than he was at all last year.

| Agree with Vastman, I'm glad his loyalty has been rewarded and that he will continue to be around the squad, I think these days he brings more off-field than he does on it. However looking at the players out of contract at the year end it would be between him and Finn for which player I'd be least desperate to have signed extensions. Clearly the many years of playing with injuries has caught up with him and we have good cover in the backrow, especially if we sign Crowther up.
Happy for DK though, hope he gets a testimonial.

| So, I don't agree with Vastman. I doubt you checked the stats but I'm interested to know which of his stats you don't think are up to scratch?
As a forward his stats in general are better than most but you can't always compare like for like because people play different number of games and minutes in games.
But taking missed tackles as a percentage of overall tackle attempts he is 5.9%. For the back rowers our best is Ashurst with 3.5% worst is Horo at 12.3%. Front rowers range from Fifita at best with 4.0% and Pauli at 10.8%. Average across the forwards including hookers is funnily enough 5.9% exactly.
Average gain also can be compared regardless of how many games are played and he compares well there too.
For the back rowers, best is of course Ashurst with 6.71 metres per carry. Worst is 6.18 with Horo. Kirmond is 6.23. The front rowers are better with Fifita being best at 7.58, Huby being quite low at 5.72. Average across the back rowers is 6.29 (so Kirmond is 6cm down per carry!) Across all the forwards 6.5.
He hasn't scored any tries, but only Ashurst with 3 and Horo and Arona each with 1 have scored in the back row.
3 errors (all have 2 or 3 except Ashurst who is 8. ) and 6 penalties (only Bachelor has less)
I'm not saying he hasn't got older. He clearly is coming to the end of his time. But his stats this year show he is in the middle of the pack so is good enough for another year.

So for me, he's ok for a contract according to the stats, in comparison to his peers.'"
After seeing Vastmans comment I had a quick look at the stats and found the exact same as yourself! Stats are not really open to interpretation either so it seems he was disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing...

| My initial view was that on the majority of the stats he's in the bottom half of the ladder... this was probably a naive thing to do.
However when looking at errors and penalties this is also effected by the number of games played.
Either way - Happy to see Kirmond around for another year.

They absolutely are - they don't account for multiple variables, such as number of games played, time on the field, number of plays they're involved in, third man in the tackle etc etc blah blah blah.

But a stat is a stat at the end of the day, it`s in black and white and cannot be argued.
