not all doom and gloom guys - with the money we have and the players we can attract a couple of results like this have to be expected during the year ( I fear this week is going to be another one)

we are still at moment on track for top 8 (just) - we have beat the bottom 4 teams - if we do that again in the second round we will finish on 18 points - I think that will be enough this year. Again with us a top 8 finish is really all we can ask for.

To be fair the socks were a disgrace.

Correct mate, some were saying it was only Salford when we beat them but I said at the time they are a good side and will cause a few upsets this season. No disgrace especially at there place.

Actually, if we only beat the sides currently below us, we'll be on 22 points, because we still play widnes & Huddersfield twice. Nothing guaranteed, but not as bleak as you're making out.

A bit of an over reaction from some I think. Sad that Finn and Grix are being targeted for this performance after their sterling service so far. It happens, Jake Webster has been a rock for us for the last 2 years but last night he was shocking. Hopefully Powell will keep faith with him as CC should do with Finn and Grix.

Hello old mate, long time no hear but a typical spot on analysis from you. hope you're well.

I seriously think every Cas fan will pray Grix stays at the back for next weeks game. Finn? I'm not sure how they'd go.

It's not like Max was so great last time he played against Cas. Whoever plays fullback against Cas is going to have a torrid time.

We need to find a way of stopping them being under pressure rather than stressing about which is least likely to stuff up.

The big issue apart from errors against Salford, was the line speed of the 2 sides.

Salford were far quicker of the mark and maintained this for the full 80, whereas, by comparison, we were static.

Castleford play a very similar style to this and if we can, we have to match them.



They come out really keen, especially in the first half and again, we need to meet fire with fire.



I know Big Dave was said to be 2 weeks away but, we could certainly do with his presence in the middle.

Defensively Salford were pretty good, apart from giving them a tackle 1 on the 50 a few times, that first half was good enough for at least a couple of scores tbh, Salford turned the ball over a few times and gave us plenty of possession and position, but they kept us out, that set the tone.

2nd half was all about Salford momentum, the 50/50's were theirs, their line speed was on the money and the game was gone pretty early.

Didn't really see anyone outstandingly dire, the team just looked flat collectively, there was effort but it wasn't focused.

Don't think Grix was any worse than anybody else.

Anyway, its gone, no point in dwelling on it, preparation for next week is the new target.

Looking at the table so far and the teams in the bottom four are really struggling. I can't see any of them turning it around to challenge that eight spot. I think the eighth spot will be a fight between us and yourselves. You're still a good team, you have consistency problems like we do. We are very short on squad numbers so a long injury list could be disastrous for us.



Time will tell.
