| Quote Khlav Kalash="Khlav Kalash"I would add the Webster(?) touch on the ball from Miller's kick. Maybe it's my bias but in my view he moved his foot towards the ball. It didn't strike him.'"
Forgot about that, yeah I've seen them given for much less, usually fast ones that clip somebody on the way through at a hundred miles an hour and you wonder if they actually knew much about it, it wasn't a fast one, gotta go down as another 50/50 we didn't get tbh.
Although, that wasn't an event directly involving a score like the McMeekin, Fifita and England decisions.
I think CC's moan at Child is completely justified, though I keep coming back to the fact that despite it all, the game was still there to be pinched right till the end.

| Can't understand why people are having a go at Horo and Pauli. Must have short memories. Remember when Bill Tupou first came to the club ? We had the same sort of thing ..now he is getting rave reviews . I know some players can move to a new club and immediately play to their full potential eg Randell. but most take a few months.

There isn't much between the two teams & thats as much as needs to be said really. The ref had a reasonable game all things considered & I'm yet to read anyone's comments on here about the decisions he might have got wrong that favoured Wakey, unless that didn't happen of course!

Fair point that steady, personally I don't think Child got much wrong for either side, that's two games on the trot now he's had a decent game for us in comparison to previous shambolic displays of refereeing from him.

By all means even up the debate. It's going to be Trinity biased on here.

I'm not saying you are wrong but I don't remember them.
What went the other way?

The only one I can remember was the Cas knock on from Grix's kick off, I thought it went backwards.
The biggest mistake I felt Child's made was just prior to the Cas try, Millington drove towards the posts and ran straight into his own team mate affecting our defenders ability to make the tackle. Millington himself put up his hand as an apology but Child's waved play on, they scored shortly after.

| Both Millington and McMeeken had the ball stripped in the second half, 1 should have been a Cas penalty 1 should have been 6 more for Cas (wakey got the scrum). I also thought TJ knocked on to Websters arm when you got the GLDO . No way did Webster play at that kick, that was even sent upstairs. It seems the more dubious decisions that frustrated wakefield were the VR calls not so much child. That said, if it wasn't easy for players it certainly wasn't easy conditions for officials either.

I haven't gone over the game in the same way I would've if we had lost (which tells its own story to be honest), but off the top of my head I thought the no tries were correct calls, the miller strip on mcmeeken should've been play on I thought (as a side he's excellent at that & really puts his body on the line to do it - great tactic).
Also the knock on from grix's late kick off & the penalty BJB "won" for floundering making no attempt to actually regain his feet - most teams do it & it's a real pet hate of mine & will say they same when we benefit from it. Although arona (I think) may not have been offside I thought the one at the side of him was - again though it's a penalty that could be given at virtually every tackle that close to the line so it feels unfair when one is given. I also thought Pauli Pauli could've been pinged a couple of times for leading with a raised knee, but they were borderline so not overt fussed as long as the ref talks to him about it during the game. I though his high shot was awful - anytime a bloke that size doesn't look where he's swinging his arm could end in serious injury. It's reckless & dangerous (totally different from Moors' tackle as there was little he could do to avoid that with the wakey player falling & his arms were down, rising up rather than stiff, but no argument with a penalty given.
I did think the Webster "accidental" call was very tough on wakey. I know he wasn't strictly playing the ball, but if you move, you run the risk & we got lucky with that. Also I thought bennys pass to mcmeeken had a hint of being forward so definitely went in our favour.
On the whole I thought the refs did a decent job as both sides were rarely on side or square all game & for what it's worthy didn't favour one side over the other.
Ha ha! Reading that all back I remember much more than I thought!

| Quote Tommy Duckfingers="Tommy Duckfingers"Probably on my own here but thought Pauli Pauli wasn't that bad, quota spot/import aside, I thought he looked reasonable. Fair enough he gave us a couple of penalties away but by my reckoning he played longer than anybody else in the front row?
Horo however appears to offer nothing so far.
Cas came to grind out a win, reckon they fancied it as a practise match for the grand final due to conditions and weather. Like us though. they'll have to find several extra gears to be anywhere near the final come the business end of the season.
Wood was the best player on the field when out there.'"
Having watched it again on TV last night, I stand corrected and have to agree about Pauli Pauli...he DID go ok...yes there were the 2 penalties he gave away, but he put in a good stint and gained a fair few metres too and had his offload to Lyne or BJB gone to hand then we could have won .
Think he will go even better on the harder summer grounds though

I expected Pauli to actually make it to the line himself rather than offloading. Although his subsequent offload was poor I think BJB could have done better.
