| Agar this week - "The players need to look at themselves in the Mirror."
It's proper Matrix down at Belle Vue! How many incarnations of the same coach do we need?

| Quote charlie63wildcat="charlie63wildcat"All true. I am very puzzled as to why we set about assembling a squad before we had appointed a coach. I am equally puzzled as to why we let a coach go with years of experience and a proven track record at exactly the time we needed a strong, experienced head to guide a new squad, and replaced him with a relatively inexperienced coach with very little in the way of a track record and 15000 very relieved Hull fans smiling to see the back of him. It's very frustrating because generally speaking, I think we are going in the right direction as a club, it's just that, for the same outlay, we could have had a more balanced and effective squad and a better coach. We are struggling from some bad recruitment choices in the pack and the ill-advised appointment of Richard Agar.'"
I think and a lot on here thought at the time we had to start buying, we were already behind the eight ball because we had been planning to move down a division and at that time a lot of the talent had been snapped up or signed longer deals where they were. I'm sure the club thought they were doing the right thing at the time, by the time Agar came who would of had to choose from on the market. I remember when he did get appointed there was a list doing the rounds, with all OOC players and the choice was poor.

I was one of those people that said a new side with 18 new players would need time to get used to each other, imo if you don't think a team needs time to gel with that many changes, you know naff all about team sports but like I said last week, that time has been and gone and we have gone backwards even from the Widnes game.

| hull were gash under agar even though their budget was a hell alot more than ours. No wakey fan wanted him here, don't get me wrong I didn't expect Craig bellamy but I would have had Daryl Powell over agar any day of the week.

| You know i wasn't a fan of Agar getting the job but i was willing to give him a go. Well quite frankly we are crap and getting worse the longer it goes on. Lets just say i wouldn't be unhappy if he got the bullet soon. He's got til this time next week, by which time will be bottom of the table and out of the cup. Then he can go.

| TBF although we may have been poor and lacking desire, the late withdrawal of Kirmond and injuries to Lauitiiti and Mathers meant any recovery was even less likely.
No point in whingeing about the coach, we're stuck with him for the foreseeable future. He knows the last 2 performances were unacceptable and he has to take responsibility for them and do something about it.
The complainers could at least wait till next week when we could quite possibly be bottom of the league an out of the cup.

| He knows it was unacceptable? It was an improvement according to this....

Yes Richard it was an improvement. Thats because the london game was so bad. Stop blaming injuries, every club gets them and to be honest we've done ok with them so far. The problem is we have under performing players and a coach who has no idea what to do about it. We look clueless, end of.

| Why play Mathers if he wasn't well? Why not play Motu Tony instead. Agar is really starting to pi55 me off with his turd excuses. Maybe because Cas have a load of young lads from cas that actually care for this derby unlike us having a bunch of aussies who dont give a crap.

That is the most relevent statement I have read on the threads concerning last night.
Look at the Cas line up and see how many local lads were present then look at outs, look at Richard Owen (love him or hate him) and his passion when he and his team mates scored in the DERBY then compare that to ours.
The supporters knew what was as stake but our players did not respond to it Cas did end of story, losing a couple of players didnt help but Cas tactically with their kicking and field position murdered us. Many complaints ion the threads about our halves but what I have seen when we have had go forward is that they can do the biz however behind a pack on the back foot all the time as per the last 2 games they dont stand a chance, they cannot be held responsible for the lack of effort nor other players the battle was lost on territory, other clubs will do the same we are way too weak up front, the problem is there is no one out there.

| Agar failed at Hull with better players, more investment, a bigger ground and more support.
We were told ( and most of us knew in our hearts) that this would happen.
I agree that we should get rid of him. I know Kear wasn't always great, but he wouldn't have sent out such an unmotivated, uncoached shower as we witnessed last night.
They didn't have a clue. No moves, no defence and little team spirit.
Smith was dreadful and doesn't deserve the wage he's undoubtedly getting.
I am one very disappointed fan.
