| The players do the fans and board no favours with their dumb errors. Failure to play the ball correctly during our 1st two sets in the game FFS!
Conceding multiple 6 again's every week is killing us. We must top the league on this stat by a mile.
Relieved that we didn't completely run out of energy and ship in our usual hat full of tries in the last 15 minutes. Good to see Eseh get a run.

| Outstanding defence against a giants sided which has reputedly spent the most in its history on players and muted to be in the top 3/4 come the end of the season .Our downfall was the non creativity offered by our half’s and slow play the balls along with a catalog of unforced errors when in a position to attack the line , real coach killing mistakes . Imo a stand off and hooker with genuine pace is required urgently to get our attack up and running . We had Huddersfield reading on numerous occasions but could deliver the coup de gras due to poor ball handling at the crucial times . Shudds for me got plenty of 6 agains and piggy backs up into a striking position due to penalties , but time and time again our defence held solid which is a massive positive for the team after last week . Summed up , great defence , poor attacking options

Agree with all that, especially the 6 agains, it's just not consistent, not just for us, but any game you watch, most of shudders field position came from 6 agains. Even the penalty for ripping looked a very harsh call.
I hope our overseas players start to show some form pretty soon because they have shown nothing that a home grown player couldn't do.
Have to say they were very average for the money Davey as spent, and some good Trinity defense. Ian Watson who I thought was pretty decent as turned into a whinger.

Spot on. I said at the game last night I'd give anything for a Liam Finn/Paul Sykes partnership!
Gaskill is NOT SL standard at SO. IMO at the very best he's a reserve centre. Hood is not quick enough at hooker and Smith is wasted there.
Until those positions are sorted out then it's looking bleak.
No, now is not the time for panic, but three games from now if we're without a win it will be.

| Liam Hood doesn’t have to be “quick at hooker”. Not every number 9 is going to be a Damien Cook / Daryl Clark type of player.
Hood dictates the pace of our attack with his intelligence and accuracy in passing. Plus he’s dominant in defence and helps balance our efforts when the likes of Atoni et al are blowing up.
You could name 20 things wrong with our squad but Hood isn’t one of them.

Would make sense, Jake Connor due back anytime and Golding would slide down the order for hudds

Well I wish You and the others on here who constantly moan that Carter isn’t spending any of his own money on the club, finally admit that he does. Otherwise why would he be hanging around to get his “Director loan” back.
Carter, Minards and others, did save this club over recent years, so don’t criticise those who Do, when all the moaners on here Can’t.

Charlie I am sorry I offended you and I should not have spoken out the way I did. However I pay my money and forgetting all the rest ,I feel the rugby side of the club is a shambles. Numerous bad recruitment decisions time after time. It's just my opinion and I may be talking out of my Harris and things are far better than I see them. Let's hope this season can be saved as you seem to believe, I just think we are done and it will be a long hard road back into SL . So if the person(s) running the club are incapable of keeping us in SL , it will be tough task for them to get us back. That's my opinion like it or lump it.

If you have signed Ash Golding that will be a massive coup and he will make a big difference to your fortunes this year, the lad is an absolute class individual who will bring a lot more than just his on the pitch efforts (which are considerable wherever he plays) He is incredibly positive and enthusiastic about everything he does, and i've never heard him be negative about anything or anyone. He is exactly what you need.
I was so so relieved when you bought Gaskell from us, what an utter waste of talent, he is plenty good enough to be an SL half back but will disappear or miss a match with 'injury' whenever and wherever he can, and is exactly the player you DON'T want when you are playing badly and need inspiration.
About the game last night, we are playing exactly like we did last year, we barnstorm up the pitch making impressive yardage and then have utterly no clue how to get over the line. We had the worst conversion rate of plays in opposition 20 to points by a mile last year and that is continuining. Jake Conner is meant to be the golden bullet to solve this issue but i'm not convinced. We have no pace in the spine at all, and with Conner we have only got slower. We needed a running half and a better replacement for Levi than the journeyman Peats, and i don't see us doing much against the pacier sides in the league, we already got ripped apart out wide by Warrington.

| Some positive signs tonight in relation to attitude and desire after pretty much waving the white flag against Wigan.
Kersh I thought was outstanding and I felt having a bit of pace at 1 over Gaskill meant we had a better start to our sets.
Thought the usual suspects put in strong shifts and obviously the defence was much improved.
In my opinion our biggest downfall remains our lack of ability to consistently build pressure and the lack of pace in the halves.
It’s very frustrating watching us get in good field position and fail to convert that into a 6 again at least. We also seem to lose composure and come up with an unforced error. Gaskill is a very intelligent player but offers no threat due to his lack of athleticism he is just incredibly laboured as he makes way around the pitch.
We are generally running good shape in attack but it’s just slower than other teams which allows the defence to react.
I don’t like to pick out individuals but Atoni is a player that needs to have a word with himself, he generally looks disinterested and lacking the levels of commitment for a Prop involved in a survival dog fight.
It’s going to take a bit of time but last night was a step in the right direction in a number of ways however it is essential we back this up and move forward again next week at Leeds.
Goulding would be a great addition due to his work rate and he offers a level of athleticism we currently do not have in the squad, hopefully that comes off.

| If we get Golding in then for me I would drop Gaskell, Golding FB, smith to the halves and Kay spell with hood.
Fwiw - Kay is one that always give it his all, played FB last night and was still going into dummy half and scooting, he really had a bit of pace to get us on the front foot
