Did anybody go to the store? we went, they invested in a big sign outside (just for the weekend???) and it was pretty busy. They had the new RL game on the wii for kids to have a go on (great idea) along with Aaron Murphy and another player (not sure who) sat on the floor talking which looked a bit silly but they would have talked to people if anybody wanted to and signed autographs. The shop is in a prime location near the lift on the top floor, finances obviously permitting but if it could be there all the time it would be a great thing for the club..Well done to those who thought of the idea and made it happen.

Sounds like it went well but we really need a full time shop and i doubt the demand is there for it, at least they are trying to improve and raise the profile.

A City Centre presence is something I've wanted to see for a long time (I’ve whinged about it long enough on here!) so I’m glad that the club have utilised this avenue to boost the profile and hopefully the gate this Friday.



I hope the whole weekend proved financially viable and that more ‘events’ are scheduled for the remaining home matches of the season.

I've been into town this morning and our the shop seemed the busiest place in the ridings!!



If we could afford to move permanantly to the Ridings it would be great for the club, but having worked for a company in the Ridings I know the rent isn't the cheapest.

However, surely the increased revenue from having a better placed store would cover this?

whats the possibility of even turning it in to a sports shop as well jjb style ?

The rent for shops in the Ridings is massive - why do you think so many of them have closed down?!!

True - again it's something where we'd have to work out a partnership, if having the shop there is worthwhile. Give the Ridings a box for the season, a couple of boards and a match sponsorship or whatever.

The most sensible approach. Its got to be worth both camps' interests to get something arranged. The Ridings may as well have a unit occupied, even at a discount, which will also attract a fair number of potential consumers for the rest of the centre and Trinity could do with the city centre exposure. Also with the new Trinity Walk Development poised to be completed next year it could be a tool the Ridings could use to compete in any future retail war.

If you look long term and the proposed park and ride scheme that will be located in the town centre, what better place to have a club shop than the town centre close to the p&r.

Yes its a strange one that, put massive rents on shops and watch them stand empty, i'm sure they have good reason to loose money just can't think what it is.



Maybe they ought to have a re-think on that one.
