Quote vastman="vastman"Don’t me wrong I see the importance of quota players and look forward to what they bring. However if we are ever to breakthrough it will have to be British and especially home grown players who will have to step up.
So I stick by what I said, for me it’s better same as it hopefully will be with Murphy and Eseh etc.
PS: if we were signing Cameron Munster then maybe but I think that’s unlikely

I wasn't criticising your viewpoint ... just adding my own thoughts and perspectives
seems to that each wave of young players is slightly better prepared than the previous stream (I think reserve grade football has been important in that, plus the option of loan spells at other clubs).. that players like Murphy and Shaw are able to step up with confidence and understanding. and be able to shine is testament to the set up at the club...
I'll stick my neck out now (ready for death by a thousand cutting remarks) and suggest that the types of player that would fit our strategy and style would be
Half back/ dummy half - Fa’amanu Brown (quota)
Middle - Marty Tapau (quota)
Middle - Robbie Mulhern
Edge Forward - Oliver Holmes
Utility forward - Elijah Taylor (quota)
and I would take a punt on the young French player Corentin Le Cam (who is out of contract. I believe)... to see how he blossoms (or not) in the reserve grade system
plus Jamie Shaul if we can sort out the benefit year thing
Promote Pratt and Roberts from the academy
replacing Johnstone, Tupou, Lineham (if possible and replace him with Evans), Fifita, Arona, Miller, Batchelor, Walker, Aydin, Adebayi, and Minns
