You're correct 164k in 2010 to HMRC, Don't know if he ever got it back though. Funnily enough it was exactly at the same time as all the Newmarket stadium stuff was going on and just got approved by WMDC.

Like with all things like this and I know the trust and fans have reasons for not liking or trusting the bloke after the seemingly dodgy way he went about things when things came to ahead with the Trust but ateotd there may be more to all that than we all know, plus it also maybe one mistake he wished he could do again, I know I've got plenty if those in my life & career.

I know from my own experience in business, that if he was exactly as some people have painted him, or even remotely like that, it's such a small world he's positioned himself in over the years, a serial Chairman of businesses involved in sports, arts and also charity; he'd have been sussed, blacklisted and confined to wakey & we'd all have seen less and less of him from the 90's on; but he's gone the other way, from being a local bloke involved in fundraising and Trinity etc, to being involved in just about every major sporting project around the country.

It's really hard to look at all the huge events and developments he's been involved in and think he can't be that bad at his job, and that's getting whatever gig his name is associated with done. For some reason though he couldn't get our little one over the line and people have seriously lost trust, trust he's taken literally decades to establish.



I wish my dad was still around to quiz him, because he was fairly good friends with RW back in the 70's and 80's as he was setting his own business up and then starting to get involved with other areas of business life and become a bit of a name around town.

Achievable, but I would imagine all singing and dancing East Stand would eat the bulk of that budget up. Basic south Stand for away fans, Salford City type west Stand and a decent north Stand. To be honest I’m expecting East Stand only to start with not full stadium development.

After the thornes Park stadium was pulled and heard RW was involved in the NM plan I thought with him on board with all his stadium and grant experience he would get it done, unfortunately the opposite happened. If he does get involved in the Belle Vue development he can redeem himself and hopefully that the case.

After the Community Trust issue with RW I don't want him anywhere near our stadium plans.

Mmm, it would seem with their recent beliefs on facebook, that certain members of our, what was swag, are quite happy with what is,our current political stance, and the second you challenge something, they unfriend you, before you even get chance to back yourself up.

For those of us not on facebook, what you on about? maybe you could expand a bit on your post.

It wasnt stadium related Wayne, so not going to go into it in too much detail.



However, last week I shared a post, which although I didn't 100% agree with myself, I thought there were some valid points.



I was then message directly a bit later in the day, asking if I'm sticking by it, and I said I wasnt sure, as I did think there was some validity to it.



I was unfriended immediately. We had been friends for several years. It would appear that I'm not the first.

It amazes me how someone can just turn their back on a friendships or even relatives too on political views as we'd be so boring if we was all the same, we have a neighbour who has put up a banner but I'm not going to as low as not talk to them just the might believe differently to me

So who’s paying then. I never get this attitude, it’s real cut your nose off to spite your face stuff.



Give us an alternative please I think you owe us that much. Or tell us why you think it’s right that our club dies because you just don’t like RW.



RW is a bit like Boris, he’s no bigger liar than most of them, he’s just a bad liar who got caught. That said has anyone got Rodney’s side of the story? No, thought not.



There are two issues here. 1. Did RW scupper NM with his actions. Imo yes but only in the short term. In the long term NM was never going to happen and that was decided by two individuals long before RW came along, we just didn’t know it. It certainly robbed us of some leaverage but again I really don’t think it would have mattered in the end.



2. Are we all really so naive that we don’t think we will need to deal with the RW,s of this world. We shouldn’t have to because the NM fiasco shouldn’t have happened but it did. Now we are swimming in a sea of sharks and to survive that you need a few sharks of your own.



The latter to me is RW. I don’t like it, I don’t think it’s right that we are where we are. There is only one victim here, that’s the Ratepayer pure and simple. Nobody seems willing to stand up for us in any meaningful way. We have no choice.



As for MC and JM they are in a hugely difficult position with at least one hand tied behind there back. Remember, to us Trinity is an institution, a mission, a belief but to the rest it’s just a business and not an especially attractive one. Our BOD have very limited ability to play the moral card before they quickly start to look like businessmen looking to get money for nothing. It’s not like that but not more than 10% of Wakefield’s population will ever accept that.



If RW is involved so be it, the time for hot air and semantics is over, we need real movers and shakers and like it or not they don’t tend to be nice and squeaky clean. Tragic I know but we are where we are and if we are not careful we will soon be where Bradford and Oldham and other past greats are.
