'Following the press release from Featherstone Rovers yesterday, Wakefield Trinity can confirm that James Ford has left his position as Assistant First Team Coach.
The club very recently became aware that James had agreed to join Featherstone Rovers for the 2024 season and after considering all the circumstances, we have agreed with James that he should leave with immediate effect. Wakefield Trinity naturally wishes to thank James for the hard work and enthusiasm he has brought to his role and wish him well in the future.

Amazing that the club waited 24 hrs to come out with the typical pub bore line of "well we actually broke up with him, he didnt leave us" |

Many people missing the larger point - our AC had already agreed to join the club most likely to be replacing a SL at next season - currently slated to be us.
How can WT have confidence in a staff member who's future looks better if we fail?
As soon as the club found out, they had to act.

Can you explain this then if we accept that reasoning.
How can the club select a player (Jordy Crowther) who has signed a contract with the club who are our nearest rival for relegation. Surely the same applies. |

I've only seen rumours based on the fact he was seen at Cas. Doesn't mean he's signed.
And we are hardly going to let a player go to rivals now.....and they might not have the wages this year.
