Indeed, if he was only half as good as your last coach....Webster.

| I love it when the off season is slow and a couple of ding dongs from other forums look to come and stir it up.
Don't know him but Budgiezilla is only defending his team, without having a dig, a bit like a lot of us would do.
Leave the numptys to only dream about being classed as 'dead and buried', only to rise from the ashes again to preserve our SL status.

| Quote TRB="TRB"I would suggest that, on their day, that Leigh side could compete with most SL clubs - as they showed in the CC last year, but my problem, especially with the big named players, is that they are there at least partly because they didn't perform consistently enough!
Leigh were a very tight night group last year - it will be interesting to see if they can maintain that group dynamic next season with those 'egos' amongst them!'"
Yep bang on the button for me.
I will just add that the players that have left salford have all said they are hoping to start to enjoy playing rugby again. Is it wakefield who have signed a player off them whos said the same?
Your the favourites for the wooden spoon again and i think thats right so its going to be interesting to see how you go on this season .

| I would expect one departure if Trinity enter the market. My guess would be Hall.

| If we go for a half I'd prefer a young kid to an established player.
I like Finn and Miller and that needs to be the settled relationship.
Bring back up for them rather than someone above them.

| A more established half would allow Finn to double up at hooked and make the side better equipped. A younger up and coming half would be like an apprentice only getting the occasional game.
I'm split between the two, but feel sure Trinity will make the best choice.

| I would prefer a more experienced half to challenge for a first team place than a young half providing back up. What kind of half would you want alongside Miller if Finn was injured?

| Makes sense that Finn and Miller should be the hb pairing - and yet, if we are in for Peter Wallace for example, we'd be mad not to play him - he's streets ahead of most SL hb's.

| We need to be careful here! Striking the right balance is essential. Finn and Miller will be feeling 10' tall right now. They are our number 1 choice, have just bossed Leeds and seem to be a good match up! Bring another named, experienced player in and you risk losing that. On the other hand, we are light if we lose one to injury.
Shame Wigan wouldn't let us use Hampshire, he would be about perfect, but we need to keep looking for someone who will be patient IMO.

| Think we need another half back with a kicking game in case of injury to Fynn. If Jacob Miller is injured and we keep Hall I think that he'd do a job there until he has recovered. So for me a calm scrum half with a good kicking game and game management is a must.

I have said previously on here that Hall owes us for last season. It's a shame because he has all the talent to be at least a good stand in for HB - whether he goes or steps up to it remains to be seen.
