Just don't like the word being used too often, i don't think many sports people can ever earn that right, it should be reserved for true legends IMO. Of course everyone has a different view on how you earn that status.
I don't view JT has a legend TBH a long serving honest bloke and one most Wakey fans have time for but to me he's not a legend.
Each to there own mate.

Players/coaches who have done more than smack a bloke in a friendly and actually brought glory on to the club though make it an international level or winning trophies.
Neil Fox, Jonty Parkin, Derek 'Rocky' Turner, David Topliss, Billy Stott, Ken Traill etc. - players I may not have seen play, but their exploits in our colours will live on forever. |

A legend for me would have had to have played the majority of his career at the club, represented his country at international level, and been an important member of a team that won silverware with the club. Not many players tick any or all of those boxes (certainly not in the last 40 years).

Could David March be classed as a Wakey legend?
He was a top player for us and he was certianly Wakefield through and through. Showed his loyality when a few teams came in after him he could have easily gone.
Was werid the first season he was not about.

Prop might be the most demanding on the body but thats why you have so many layers of soft tissue to help protect you against the wear and tear it recieves |
