Didn't think Mellars had a good game today, was willing to take the ball up but didn't bust any tackles or create any opportunities unlike Mariano who would have out wide.



Saying that Lynne was quiet as well. As for the rest of the team thought they were very good. What a run by Wilkes!

I've seen people move furniture quicker than wilkes' run but he still outpaced the Widnes defense so good on him!!

Mellars didn't do anything spectacular but he didn't do much wrong either. Solid enough tonight.

I thought he showed pretty good work rate in defence tonight, happy with his performance.



I agree with Lynne, not sure what he brings to the team.

Mellars was solid, his defence has improved. Solid performance and if he's willing to put it in he should get time to show what he can do.



Lynne was poor I thought today. Appears to have lost confidence big time which is a shame.

He looks very lightweight to me. After a promising start he seems to have gone off the boil a bit. I would be looking to get Cowling in to replace him next week.

Just play Mellars at centre albeit he was only solid and drop Lynne. Got enough fit second rows now so doesn't need to cover the pack.

I would put Cowling in before both.

Cowling and Walshaw can do exactly the same solid performance at a fraction of the price, if not better.

And will improve with the experience,

I wouldn't mind having another look at Cowling anyway.



On the Mellars thing, you an see why a Coach would have him on the bench simply for his utility value, he can cover the forwards and the backs.



Not sure what's happening with Lyne, looked like he could be a bit of a player in the first few games, gone off the boil in the last few.
