A little confused by todays news and I think we’ll have to await more explanation from either the club or Poching for an idea of the rationale.



On paper relieving Poching of his duties after 1 year suggests the appointment was flawed in the first place. Surely a coach needs more than a years contract in any scenario, especially as a rookie head coach and with limited movement in the playing group possible until this off-season.



I did get the feeling Poching was starting to inject some of his knowledge and passion for the club into the players. The grit and character, long renowned with Wakefield, which seemed to leave with Kirmond/the bunch which departed a couple of seasons ago.



IMO the timing does point to a disagreement of some kind. We’re a few weeks on from being safe and more vital recruitment time is slipping away. Willie seemed to understand the budgets and resources available at the club, so hope we have a coach lined up who can work on the same constraints and work some magic.

Hoping for a quick announcement about a new Trinity Head Coach who turns a few heads in the sport and is well respected, experienced and successful in the game….

The reaction to his replacement will probably go one of two ways. It'll either be, "wow!, I never saw that coming!" or, "cheap, unproven option again. Typical Wakey."

Your not wrong, but even the wow won’t be good enough for some.

At Wakey, everyone is unproven, because managing a team of great players is a different skill to managing a bunch of newbies, hopefuls, and second-chancers.



Time will tell. We'll know by May how it is going, whoever it is.

If the standard was good why did it take until round 20 to string a couple of better performances?

Toulouse was poor game management by Poching and didnt react with subs to minimise the impact of being down to 12 men and ameteur to use 2 markers when 12 men on the field, that is coaching and he was the coach, likewise Salford away zero change in game plan and salford continued to do what they did from score one to score 14



Poching i like but a head coach he isnt, he deserved his chance but as a club we need to push for better experience, if we persist with mediocre 2/3rds of the season and an above average final 1/3rd then we will never improve regardless of any future stadium enhancements and any possible investments
