| Listening to Humberside after the game and Murdoch said after Briscoe's fantastic solo effort 'If there is a better winger in world rugby, I am yet to see it'
At the time I thought it was a very bold statement to make, but comparing Briscoe to the SOO wingers for example, he may be have a point:
Uate - very quick and strong, but doesnt have the 'class' to make something from nothing, lacks the balance that TB has
Boyd - is a fullback
Morris - great winger, strong and quick - probably ahead of Briscoe at this stage
Yow Yeh - promising player but i think overall, TB has more to his game
Am i being completely bias?? Maybe!
I just hope he keeps improving and produces more of the same

| If he could learn to catch, he'd be right up there. Unfortunately, despite being a tremendous player, until he masters the basics he struggles to be the best in SL.

He can't catch, it's a massive flaw of his and until he can there's no point comparing him to Origin players.

Pat Richards I would say is better. I don't want to come across as if i'm rubbishing one of our best players, I just think comparing him to Origin players is a little premature.

| Yeah I think he is great, but lets be honest, Salford wouldn't get a single point if they were in the NRL they are the equivalent of a Toyota Cup side at best. When you can bust a move against the top sides regularly (and yeah I know he did against Saints which was awesome).
Most NRL wingers can slot into fullback without a problem, as their catching is good, a la Nightingale. I'd doubt Briscoe would relish that.

| I would say he is one of the best wingers in SL, but it is ridiculous to start calling him the worlds best when he has made little impact in international RL (not all his fault obviously, he gets little service in the England shirt)
He has also had a few dodgy performances this season, which he needs to learn from.
but yer, his tries against Wakefield and Salford showed great pace and technique (timed his hand-offs perfectly)

| If Murdoch really did make that statement...it says more about his own ignorance of the sport than anything about Tom Briscoe.
Not knocking Briscoe, but racking up hat-tricks against the likes of Salford mean nothing in the context of Murdoch's 'moment of madness'.
Let's be honest, Briscoe has been a hitherto disappointment on the international stage. He was even 'hooked' in favour of Peter Fox in the 2009 Four Nations and his most noteworthy contribution to last year's event was his dreadful mistake from a Lockyer kick which cost England a try at a critical stage.
Until he even begins to make a semblance of impact in the international arena, he cannot possibly be mentioned in the same breath as NRL stars such as Vetuvei, Boyd, Nightingale, Hayne, Uate, Vidot, Yow Yeh, etc etc...let alone Pat Richards.

How do you expect him to make an impact on the International scene when it is most likely he will be playing outside of the Ryan Atkins or Michael Shenton? All of the above wingers you list get to play on the International circuit outside World Class Centre's. I'm not saying TB is world class but your point lacks a lot of context.
