As Rangi has now confirmed what everyone knew for ages - is it safe to assume the no doubt sizeable salary he would have demanded will be used for another number 7?



Or have we spent it knowing he wasn't coming anyway?



And by all accounts Mcdonnell is coming on a decent whack, which I don't understand as I would be happy with Horne at FB for a year.



That in mind, with no Rangi and no Mcdonnell, surley there must be a right whack left to get someone special in at 7? And if so who?

Isn't Seymour contracted for a while yet? Would have cost to ship him out, can't see anyone else buying him? I thought (perhaps wrongly) was a new 6&7 and with Seymour making up numbers as the chances of a 6&7 playing all season with no injuries is small. Seymour would be a half decent squad player. But don't know what salary he is on?

Didn't McRae say that if the Chase deal happened they'd have to shuffle things around a bit & other areas of the squad would suffer? I basically took this to mean signing Chase would mean paying Seymour off.



Hull were at full cap this season. Look at the players that have left & those that have signed. Unless Seymour is sent packing I reckon there's not much more than £100k left, enough to sign McDonnell or to retain Aspinwall & McGoldrick.

I think we will see 2/3 players coming in so yes still room on the cap.

I would be surprised and disappointed if we are near full cap.
