May not be the world's most gifted hooker but has made 1025 tackles so far in SL, over 150 ahead of the next highest tackler, he certainly has one hell of an engine. Particularly impressive as he's been spelled more by heremaia this year. Only 32 misses meaning he has a tackle success rate of 97%. Great effort

Defensively outstanding and his running game is also very good. Still needs to improve his distribution and engagement of defenders.

A little harsh maybe. We could also say that if James Roby's work rate and tackling were of a higher standard he would be an England cert......oh hang on.
All depends what the coach wants from his hooker really. A defensive, more tackling orientated machine or another cog in the teams offensive armoury....... |

According to the Super League website, Dallas Johnson got 1106 in 2010. Only goes back to 2003 though......
Only 4 other blokes got over 1000 in a season and Danny Houghton has now done it twice! |
