bateman could have gone to any club in SL so he's either completely devoid of any ambition or they've convinced him they're going to put together a competitive squad. I hope they do

We've only failed to sign Chase according to who the club has said we have been after, the rest could be all made up by people who claim to be in the know, so I suggest we wait and see.

Given how close we were to finishing in the top 4, and that we were competitive in the playoffs the squad doesn't need a radical overhaul to achieve the next step. Players like Watts and Pitts will be better for a full pre-season with us, the competition in the 3/4's that Arundal and Crookes give us in addition to the signings of Ellis & Holdsworth means we have improved.

We're probably going to sign McDonell (who's better than Horne at FB) and the club are obviously looking to sign another halfback. We're going to be a lot stronger next year.

I have to say that with the exception of Ellis, I am underwhelmed by our recruitment so far. It’s not in line with the quality that AP consistently alluded to in all his interviews. All our signings have been from teams that finish lower than us in the competition with the exception of Pitts. He was surplus to requirement by the current champions so hardly a coup. My point being these are not players use to winning or being in a winning culture and I’m not convinced at all they are going to upgrade us to a top two super league side. When you couple this average recruitment drive with the loss of Manu and Moa and then you have to say we are on course for yet another season of mediocrity. When you hear us looking to resign McGoldrick and Aspinwall then you do have to ask yourself are they really going to take us to the next level? AP should be commended for the off field work and resources he has put into the club but whoever is in charge of recruitment has failed in the main imo. Why the club feel the need to keep saying things that don’t turn out to actually happen, I don’t know. What happened to the two signings a week as stated on the website or two of the best half backs in the league? False promises and another false dawn for Hull FC. The AP and PG can do no wrong club need to wake up and have a dose of reality.
